    Another cladding repaor thread

I've read numerous things. I am going to be repairing a cladding that is original. I was going to use panel bond but also need to know what color it is. What color has everyone had success with on the original cladding?

If no one knows, you can check with Tom @ Sportmachines. He would more than likely know since he sells cladding pieces and clips.

    Good luck on the repairs

I used this as per the how to article:

    Amazon.com: 3M 05883 Rigid Parts Repair Tube Kit - 5 oz.: Automotive

It's blue. But it's paintable if you need to. I didn't. Worked like a charm.

    Re: Another cladding repaor thread

Thanks for the posts. I am in the body shop business/insurance business so I may have one of my local shops Nitrogen weld the cladding for me. If that doesn't work I will get some of the 3M Rigid parts repair. My concern is certainly not the repair holding rather the paint I have to use to match the rest of the cladding Has anyone had to paint their cladding and if so what did they use? I understand I can have a shop mix some PPG paint but surely the way these claddings fade there is some homemade paint that would work just as well (since it will obviously fade again). thoughts?

    Re: Another cladding repaor thread

The cladding on the truck I have has been painted at some point.

If you have some good pieces I'm sure any shop could color match but being that you can easily remove the cladding from the car I would say it may be more practical to have it all sprayed at once.

Also, I would still use the panel pond to reinforce the tabs on the back side of the cladding even if you have it welded. Stock wasn't strong enough...every little bit of strength helps.

I just use back to black frequently. Cladding changes to the original matte look after doing it a couple of times and keeping it clean. It really depends on the damage and the condition of the cladding. It works for me anyway

Six10 epoxy sold at west marine, best damn 2 part epoxy for repairing just about anything. And premix tubes so no mix sticks.
