  • Another feel good Nats SyTy Story....

After reading Mike's neat story (about attending the Nats), I figured
Aaron Timm would not mind my posting of his generosity as well.

Dabney has had the worst luck these last few years with Ty parts. Not only
did he get ripped off several times (from past members) but
some of his personal parts (like wheels, and msd) were sold by
    "friendly borrowers" without Dabneys knowledge.

Aaron, who unknowingly bought the "loaned" msd of Dabneys several months ago,
returned the unit at the Nats when told of its past, without any intent of
being reimbursed. Neither did he utter any bad words against the
    "seller/borrower" as well.

I know it sounds trivial, but in a world that seems harsh, and
greedy, the kindness displayed by members on this board
often is enough to put a tiny smile on a otherwise depressing day

My hats off to the Nats planning committee

    Larry (and Claire) Brown

You would figure that the worst of times would bring out the worst in people but it's nice to see that it's not the case. At least within the syty community. I'm glad I bought the stupid typhoon.

I know Dabney fairly well and if anybody would extend a hand with parts it would be him. Unfortunetly a few bad apples in the bunch of taken advantage of that over the years. I can only hope Karma comes around for them.

As a whole the syty group is very close group and will help out each other. One of the reasons I have stayed around for so long and built such good friends.

I know it is mentioned from newbies when first coming to the forums it can be a bit confusing but once you get past the "gates" so to speak your part of the group.

Yeah Karma is a mofo, as for the newbie thing I think I am almost there. I like the fact that this forum is close knit. I have been on sites that are too big and it just gets annoying and filled with dumb ass ?'s and answers. Its nice to see that some people still like to help each other out.

I still have a good amount of parts so we need to get a list of things he needs, I would be the first to run to the j-yard for stuff!

Syty'ers are the Best . The Harmons were the single reason we made Nats '09 . Somehow these trucks bring out the best in people .

Meeting Dabney was one of my more fun memories from Nats -06, besides Jeff, Jeremy and the "bunch".

Here comes a total stranger up to me and Robert handing over a cup of starbucks coffe to us bouth with a smile and a twinkle in his eyes, saying "I bet U long for som Swedish coffe now? this aint so bad"...

Then we had some lafs and good times, not all to be told here

In my opinion a great guy
