  • Turbo Rebuild Help

So my compressor blades are bent and there is oil leaking into the housing, so i need to rebuild my turbo. I just want to make sure i get the correct parts for it. And I dont think this is a stock turbo either. The numbers on the compressor housing are: 49179-04100 And next to the Mitsubishi symbol are: 49179-54900

And on the exhaust housing are: DUCM 79-1200

From the research i have done, this is the closest thing that i can find: https://www.hahnracecraft.com/produc...nt=21021176773

Im just not 100% sure its the correct part and i dont want to waste money. I also need to replace the seals and what ever bearings i need to replace in the cartridge. Any help is greatly appreciated! And this is a Syclone too Btw. Thanks!

Looks like your on the right track. Maybe a Mitsubishi Kinugawa 20G turbo? Looks like the right part.

Yup, those numbers are leading me to the exact same pages. I believe im on the right track too, now im just stuck with 2 different compressor wheels. The one in the first link i listed and now this one:

        turbocompressorwheelmitsubishitd05hevo316gdsm

This one is cheaper, and manufactured by Kinugawa.

I'm not really sure if this will help you but just throwing it out there. Maybe measure your existing comp wheel and see if the number match with what you have posted.

So my parts arrived today and i rebuilt my center section with all new Mitsubishi parts and it all went perfectly. My compressor wheel was exactly the same and fit perfectly too. So i got the right parts. My only concern is that on my new wheel, 2 of the fins have a little burr. One on the tip of the fin and one at the bottom. Should i be concerned about this? Or should i just gently file it down/leave it alone? I really dont think it will effect anything at all, but i know it shouldn't have any flaws when its brand new.

Other than that, it spins perfectly with ZERO play in or out, or up and down.

I think you be ok IMO if you file it smooth. The ooonnnnllyyyy thing I can think of that could possibly happen would be an unbalanced wheel?, but might be to small to create any fuss. Just a thought!
