Leaf Springs

I had ordered the Belltech leaf springs from Summit and was wondering if they come with bushings and U bolts or if you can still use the stock ones. I'd like to replace them if they don't come with them and was wondering if anyone knows where to get them. Thanks

Comes with bushings but no hardware.

U bolts can be ordered from the stealer, any local auto parts store or have a set of heavy duty ones made at a local semi repair type place.

Yeah they come with bushings but no u bolts/nuts.. I got mine from an RV/Semi shop because the standard one's from pep boys or autozone looked weaker and smaller od wise then the stockers.

Also remember to remove the wedge from your stock springs and install it on the new belltechs

BT does sell pinion angle wedges of varying degrees but they are not included with the new springs.

Instead of wedges, the BT springs were not low enough for me (the 3" drop claim is from a stock s series, not a SyTy) so I ended up buying a 1" drop block with 2* of pinion angle machined in.

OK, so I got the Belltech leaf springs installed with 1" drop block and axle set back plate. Now, when I accelerate or do a tight turn, I get loud clunking noises from the rear. Any ideas? Swaybar maybe?

I'm running a 3" beltech drop spring with no wedge and i'm not having any problems!

I had beltech leafs with a 1inch block and rear sway bar. Mine clunked on every turn and hard bump. It was more like a bang. Turned out that rear axel tubes on the rear were hitting the frame. I had to take out the one inch block and it rode better and the noise went away.

The rear now settled down slightly too low for my taste. I'm going to replace the 1" blocks with 1/2" blocks and remove the rear swaybar to see if the clunking goes away.

That's what happened with mine with 1in blocks, settled down to far and rode like sh*t! I took it out after about a week and the clunking went away. Post some pics when you get the 1/2in blocks in. I may consider doing that as well

Anyone know the weight of the belltech springs compare to stock and fiberglass?

Mine rides very well with the 1" blocks. I removed the rear swaybar and the clunking went away. I only had a little more than an inch between the top of the rear drive shaft and the bottom of the swaybar, so they were hitting each other. I also removed the bracket and adjusting rod for the rear air shocks/auto leveling system. The rear still sits slightly too low, so I have 1/2" blocks on order.

Now that I'm thinking about it I had to make adjustments to my sway bar. It was hitting the top of the leaf so I rotated it and got the clearence needed. We must have different sway because mine sits under the rear diff and is no where near the driveshaft. I think mine is a Belltech sway bar. The reason mine clunked is because I cut the bump stops to allow more suspension travel and the rear hit the frame. I took the 1inch block out and its been smooth sailing ever since...

I had an Addco rear sway bar, which sits over the front of the rear diff where the driveshaft connects to it.
