Re: FAST/GAST Memorial Meet 2009

I would love to come and see you guys again......but I have a BIG question. My passenger side cylinder head is very noisy. What is invloved in checking this out? I would assume it is a big job that may take some/alot time so it may not be an option in such a short "enjoyable" visit. I also assume it is a noisy lifter/lifters and it is driving my knock sensor nuts and makes driving nerve-racking.

What I needs help with  -

1) above said noise
2 )new braided turbo return line

I have a brand new AEM tru-boost gauge/solenoid that I will compensate to anyone who wants to help $275 value

heck i gots my stock sy heads with low 39k miles in storage containers . i can bring a head and install it if you like .

Found an even cheaper hotel about 10 easy miles from the house. Red Roof Inn - Nothing fancy but the regular rate is $55. And it's next door to the WingHouse, which is an option for Saturday Night (they are featuring a UCF fight on PayPerView) or Sunday lunch (I assume the Indy 500 will be featured).

I've checked into other area weekend activities that the group may be interested in - Let me know:

- Watchmen playing at the IMAX theater.
- Human Body exhibition (Co-located with IMAX theater)
- Smokin' A's BBQ sponsored car show (never been..$1 entry fee to compete for best of show)
- Paint Ball. About 5 miles from the house, Sat or Sunday. http://www.orbitalpaintball.com/
- Hillsborough River Park. http://funandsun.com/parks/HillsboroughRiver/hillsboroughriver.html#cano

Ive stayed at that Red Roof. Its pretty decent for cheap overnight stay, pretty much what you expect for $55.

I booked at the Red Roof yesterday. One site had it closed out, it was up ten bucks on their site. I found it at the $55 rate at AAA. I only booked for sat night, current plan is to come up really early sat and leave some time sunday.
I have a list of things to do to the Ty before leaving, but nothing major, it's all little convenience stuff like replace the old XM unit with a current Sirius, fix one seatbelt (maybe for the wrench session), reconnect the map lights I left off last time I dropped the overhead console. etc. NOTHING that would stop me from driving it anywhere all you crybabies.

Tired of all of the members of this forum, no one in particular, saying SyTy's are unreliable and can't be daily drivers. '93 Ty, 2nd owner, 150K miles, never apart except for the transfer case for an intermittant clicking noise.

Very much looking forward to the meet.

Looking like Saturday for me. What time is everyone going to be awake for this shindig?

Re: FAST/GAST Memorial Meet 2009

Just got back from a trip to Maine and catching up with the posts..

We can kick things off plenty early on Saturday - residents and guests should be ready to go by 0800 I imagine.

Gary - glad to hear you can make it - You probably set the bar out of reach with the steak barbecue you put on for us - But we'll definitely keep it above the "bubba burgers" threshold.

Harmon/All - If you have SyTy parts to sell / trade your all welcome to bring them along and see if anyone's interested in saving shipping costs.

That's all for now (have to unpack), but I should be up on the board daily again through the meet date. cheers.
