Braided ABS Delete Kits

Re: Braided ABS Delete Kits

Yeah...overall length would be fine. If there are any tiny bends in it, just skip over those as the hose won't make tiny bends anyhow. Snap a pic while you're at it....I may be able to visualize a better routing for it.

Mike,

I sent you an email with the dimensions and a photo.

thanks,

Just got it.....I'm thinking 65" of braided line might be pushing it. I'd be concerned about balanced performance side to side when the d-side has 18" of braided to go thru to get the to the wheel hose and the p-side has 83" to go thru to get to the wheel hose. Though I am optimistic.......I did a braided swap on our 4800 lb Silverado and it had no reduction in braking performance over hard lines. I understand that technically the braided line will flex/swell, but I'm hopeful that it's impact on overall performance (vs my hardline delete kit) will remain unnoticed to 99.9% of the people out there (fingers crossed).

Matt Peacock is gonna do some testing for me on his Typhoon and as soon as those numbers/impressions come back, I'm gonna start shipping units and taking payment. If all is well, I'll look into a crossover replacement as well....

When I was building the stainless kits I put them through a bunch of tests for swelling. We pressurized the lines to 3,000psi and I measured 3/1000th's (.003) of an inch change in diameter.... pretty negligible. The hoses I used were DOT-approved for brake line use, so that may be the reason.

Yeah....this is what we've observed with our high pressure hydraulic hoses.....very little flex at max pressure. Even repeated testing (10,000+ pressurization cycles) yielded negligible increases. With up to 2000 psi generated from a typical automotive braking system under max load, you want these to be right, but compared to the world of hydraulics (which we service every day), 2000 psi is @ rest pressure. In fact, one of our accounts uses 1/4 hose on an input pump on a barge crane, and that line alone sees over 30,000 psi constant (50,000 max). Obviously, we use 6 layer braided, but still.......

Re: Braided ABS Delete Kits

Update: I've been driving my Ty for 4 months on this kit (2000 miles) and the pedal feel is just fine. Let me collect my thoughts and tend to some existing PMs and I'll get the ball back rolling on this kit GP.

Re: Braided ABS Delete Kits

First off....I'm legally bound to say this....this kit is not designed for on-highway use. Use of this product is at your own risk. Caveat Utilitor.

Okay guys, we're ready to start supplying braided -4AN ABS Delete kits for the SyTy & 4WD S-Series. This is a simple bolt on affair with no flaring, tooling, or modifying necessary....simply remove the old ABS unit and lines, install the ABS Delete kit, and bleed the brake system. Here's what you'll get:

(1) - Front Hose
- Runs from the rear port on the proportioning valve to the front line tee.
(1) - Rear Hose
- Runs from the front port on the proportioning valve to the rear line union.
(1) - Wheel Hose
- Runs from the front line tee to the driver-side wheel hose.
(1) - Front Wheel Line Tee
- Replaces the union for the front line.
(4) - Front/Wheel Line Adapters
- Used to adapt the front line hose & wheel hose to the proportioning valve, wheel hose, and front line tee.
(1) - Rear Line Proportioning Valve Adapter
- Used to adapt the rear hose to the proportioning valve.
(1) - Rear Line Union Adapter
- Used to adapt the rear hose to the rear line union.
(1) - Instruction Booklet
- Tells you what to do.

Here's what the install will look like when done (*NOTE* - I used a longer rear hose on my install....the shipped unit will be shorter and will drape over the shock tower).

Users of my old ABS Delete kit will notice that the front wheel tee is now pointed upward instead of outward. This is necessary to allow the wheel hose to bend properly.

Now, the question(s) that I'm sure you all have are.....What's it cost?......and......When will I get it? Well, the initial run will need to be done as a group purchase due only to supply of hoses. Cost will remain the same once the initial run is over and kits or placed on an individual order basis. Minimum initial run order will be 10 kits.

Cost - $85 (shipped in the lower 48) - And that's cheap....I just priced the items through Summit and cost to reproduce WITHOUT shipping is over $95.

Payment can be made via PayPal or CC over the phone. If you have any questions, please PM me. I will ship the first kit to Matt Peacock for real world testing (this week), and once it's proven, I will begin accepting payment.

PS - I know that my truck is filthy and that my IC pump wire is cut in half.

Why do you state "Not designed for Highway use"? Sorry if im missing something here!!!

The braided hose hasn't been submitted for DOT testing (from Earl's). I put that in there because Earl's does too......legality and all, ya know? ;) Not to mention that removing a safety item (ABS) is looked at as a huge no-no by insurance companies anyways. Last thing I'd want is someone to not get paid (and be surprised by that) because their kit didn't have a DOT approval and the Insurance Co. declined payment. Same as it was with my old hard-line kit.....use at your own risk.

Understood and thanks for the explanation. I actually have your hard line kit that i never installed. I really like this kit better. When will this kit be ready for shipping? I might just wait it out and go with the new kit.

Thanks

Hopefully, pretty soon. I need to sort out supply with Earl's, take orders, and place the order. After that, 1-2 weeks I'd imagine.
