To trailer or not to trailer that is the ?

I’ve been missing racing at the National the last few time I’ve gone. I haven’t raced since the 2002 Nationals in Chicago.
My truck has had quite a few runs put on her and I have a feeling something’s going to break.

This year my family will be with me and we may extend our vacation after the Nationals.:tup:

The one thing I love about our trucks is you drive to the track. Make some kick ass passes and then drive home.

This is all leading up to that this year I may trailer my TY so I can race. If it breaks I load her up and we can continue our vacation with no worries.
Will my SYTY brethren feel less about me if the Typhoon comes in on a trailer?

I trailered my ty last several times. Glad I did to Orlando, o wait it probably would have never made it to begin with.

I have found having the trailer makes things much more comfortable. If something happens, if your worried about something and just want to check it more later on the trailer and enjoy yourself.

Wihtout the trailer you are worried about getting home, what if something does break.

You can always unload the first day and not load it back up until your ready to leave.

The only nationals I have ever raced at was when I trailerd mine. I live 2 hours from BG maybe? I am still trailering mine, just so I can get it back home.

Heh just be glad that you CAN make passes in your truck ! I won't drive mine to a meet and flog it anymore unless I'm within my AAA towing radius.

I'm really debating on trailering the Sy this year. I just did a bunch of work to it and I have no confidence in it at all to make that long haul there and back. The Ty would probably make the trip down, but this type of gathering calls for the Sy!! :lol:

I tow so I can push the truck further and harder at the track. No other reason.

During the week I drive it wherever, work, store, etc. (when motor isn't blown).

I do agree if you tow it because you didn't get the tires change that are rotten that is another issue.

Dave if you tow the sy, with the ty inside an enclosed trailer, steak dinner is on me.

Especially since your are bring your family, I would tow it if you have the means.

If I had a LSx and 4L80E it wouldnt bother me to drive and thrash on it but I just dont trust the powertrain. So I would trailer for sure

Here's something to ponder, which I have done many times while towing my Corvette all over the Country: How inconvenient will it be if the tow-car breaks down?

Assuming the ty didn't break, I will have another car to drive home and get the other tow truck

Glad we brought a trailer for ours to the Nats... that paper clip sure F%()*&#$ up our Junk! Lol..

We'll trailer the Ty or the Camaro this year.. So if one go's wrong we've got options.

i'd def trailer it in your situation Wade. Are you really going to want to only drive the Ty for vacation? I'd much rather have the tahoe to normal stuff so you don't have to worry about it. :2cents:

A Lightning can't tow a Ty??? I always thought they had a pretty decent tow rating??
