New Owner of Sy 1659

Just wanted to introduce myself. I have an 86' Gn and now a 91 Sy. I'm looking at a rebuild of the Sy motor and will be doing a lot of parts gathering. The site looks great. I'm on turbobuick.com with the same screen name. My Gn ran a 12.14 at 15lbs having to lift for the 1-2 and the 2-3 shifts so I expect it to be in the high 11s with the new tranny that should be back on Wendsday. I would like to hear about what works and what may not. I'm just trying to have a really clean Sy that may run in the 11.90-12.10 range and be very reliable.

start saving for a tranny if its still the stock 700r4 , your goals are easily reached with good tuning . Welcome to the club .

Yes, all Texan here. I live in League City. There are several Syclones and a couple Typhoons locally. I have some pics of three Syclones at a local car show but I can't post them here yet. I guess I dont have enough posts yet. I will be checking back to see what I may find. Jon

Here's some pics of Jonothan's, Marty's and My truck. My truck is to the left, Marty's in the middle and Jonothan's to the right. The lighting sucked in the parking lot but it was cool to see the three Sy's together behind Hooters.

Well you guys put up the pics, looks good!! :tup: yea need some better ones but it was nice to be there and see 3 syclones in the same place, and to see all the other cars there, love them old hotrods but it was a nice night to be driving around, and lance the other guy with the syclone is john. and we need to get some other sys and tys get togethers, hey by the way did you put that big turbo on yet?

Not yet bro, I'm working with Scott at DT to get me the tuning tools I need. I've got to finish my intake before I install the turbo, that plastic tube his seen it's final days. I'm looking at 2 options, one run a cutom tube between the battery through the core support or custom fab a tube similar to a Kenne Bell or fab an aluminum tube similar to the factory but then you have heat issues.

Ya, I might have to but I like the battery there. Yours is a clean setup though.
