Re: My Syclone Qualifies for C.A.R.S. Cash for Clunkers
Arrrgh now im upset. Ok heres the deal, that cash for clunkers thing has already proven to be a joke. First on govt misbudgeting that the money should last 60-90 days, and ran out of money in i think 4 days, now there going to add more funds to the program. Wait Wait Wait. SECONDLY: Thats our tax dollars at work, Our money that well end up paying anyways in the end. Think im full of it, its already started. Gas is on its way back up, Cigarettes already went up a buck a pack, The energy taxes are already going up. etc. Now people that were doing ok are now slammed with another payment. These people that dreamed up this plan are the same people that cant make any other govt programs work, so why would this one last 60-90 days when they cant balance a national or state budget, heathcare, social security, a war, etc etc etc. If anyone has any negotiating skills at all they dont need a government voucher. Case in point. My last vehicle i bought was a 06 nissan titan. I bought it new at the end of 06. It is a crew cab le model 4x4 pretty much fully loaded. The sticker was $41,800. It took me probably 8-10 hrs of negotiating between 4 different evenings at the dealer. My out the door total price was $30,550. with ZERO down. Thats a bit better than a stupid voucher that limits your negotiating. When the stealership sees your voucher they arent as willing to move on the "sticker" price because they make you feel that you are already getting more than your trade is worht even though its not thier money going into your trade. Except chrysler??? Do you really think there going to double your voucher without burying that back into the contract? Think Again. Many many times ive seen deal write ups where they supposedly gave 8k plus on a trade, but deeper in the contract the customers were actually given one dollar for the trade. It happens everywhere. one major problem with the dealerships is the front end of the store employees make way too much money to show a profit even though they are raping the buying public. Example: a General sales manager at a larger dealership with bonuses and company perks included makes somewhere between $500,000-$1,000,000 a year, Finance managers make between $80k-250k a year service managers between 120k-200k, other department managers usually $100k plus. Thats just some of the picture. Most managers do not produce profits its up to the sales team, service writers, and repair technicians to make up for all these salaries. Thats why it costs $100 per labor hour at a dealer. And you wonder why the dealers across this country cant make a profit. Anyways sorry if i hijacked a thread, veered from the original subject or even mis-spelled a few words, but if you want to trade your syclone in then i guess go ahead, its yours and you own it. and in the end thats one less on the road and makes all others worth more. Our trucks would all be worth more if we just chose not to sell them. something to think about. Robb
