Okay, I know it's over a year away, but while we're all still in the NATS spirit, it'd be good to hear some views on what the next Shindig should be. Now, keep in mind that all of this is subject to change and that the suggested plan below is just that....a suggestion.
Location - Savannah, GA
Date - November 5th-7th, 2010
Events - AutoX, Drag Racing, Hooters cruise, and downtown Savannah sightseeing.
Here's a quick pic I made of the Greater Savannah area and the attractions.
The original plan for the Shindig (as laid out by Adam, Ian, and myself) was to have it relocate every 2 years around the Southeast. Last year in Orlando was great, but some (TN, NC, etc...) found the drive too far to justify. So, even though it's only marginally farther North, Savannah offers a little more "central" location.
Also, the area where we are staying will be out of Savannah altogether, so traffic won't be an issue and the few times we venture into Savannah, we'll do so as logistically smart as we can. However, Greater Savannah offers more for our group than downtown does. Within 10 min of the "potential" hotel is an Air Force museum (where we can have a catered lunch and sessions/tours), Family Fun Park (yes...with a go kart track
), dozens of places to eat, our AutoX location, and I-75 and I-16 (so access will be easy).
Obviously, there is still much to work out, but I wanna see how all of you feel about the proposed plan above.
Thoughts? Comments?
Oh, and if a 2010 Shindig sub-forum gets created, just move this topic please.
