Belltech springs and stock wedge?

I had my Belltech springs installed last year and the shop forgot to put the stock wedges in. I have no vibration issues but want to reinstall them to help center the rear wheels. How do you bolt the wedge to the springs? And where can I find new U-bolts?

I can't see how some of you guys are using blocks with Belltech springs because I can't even fit a dime between the bump stop and frame. I wish it was a little higher in the back because I can't even use my ST rear sway bar which I used to have installed with stock springs and 1" lowering blocks.

Thank You

Re: Belltech springs and stock wedge?

The stock wedges won't center your rear wheels. In fact, the stock wedges would even move your rear wheels forward a little. To center the rear wheels, you need a set of axle set-back plates. You can get the axle set-back plates and new U-bolts from JTR: http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Parts_S10-301.html

The axle set-back plate fits over the centering pin on the rear leaf, and the stock wedge fits over the centering pin on the axle set-back plate.

Check to see if the pin hasn't "jumped" out of the hole on the axle. That might also cause this, my rear did it at some point and I didn't know it until I went to install the blocks.

Re: Belltech springs and stock wedge?

Richard,

Thanks for making this more clear, being that I didn't install the Belltech springs. I was already looking on the JTR site for the set-back plates and didn't know they also carried the U-bolts which I'll be ordering both of them from. Do you think by adding the stock wedges and set-back plates the back will get lower, higher or stay the same?

Tim,

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll defineatly look into this.

PS, should I leave the Belltech spring plate out or in. What would be the difference?

Thank You

The set-back plates and the stock wedges will lower the rear approximately 5/8".

I'm using mine. If your truck is sitting just a little too low in the rear for your taste, then you can remove the Belltech spring plates to raise the rear up 5/16".
