ty for sale locally, whats it worth

just joined, been a lurker for a while, always loved the syclones but ty's are up there too... Anyways found a 93 within 5 miles from my house, has 110k on it at a small car lot where the guy had it serviced, he moved away and told them to try and sell it.... I dont know a whole lot about these and wondered what fair value was on it...

black/black, w/ 110k miles
oil guage doesnt work
abs light on, drivers window doesnt work
console lid all busted off hinges, seats nice...
body pretty straight, cladding all good, paint peeling around wheel cladding, rust on pass door by cladding, rear gate/bumper are dented from being backed into something
rust at above rear window on body
wheels corroded, bolts holding caps on
tires good, but fronts are dryrotted


when i drove it it shifted out of 1st at 4k rpms at wot, could hear turbo but didnt seem to be real powerful....

asking 5k but the guy straight up told me he'd prob take 4000 for it...

Sounds like it's going to need a lot of work to get to where it needs to be... You're probably better off finding a good one to start with especially if you don't know much about these trucks. Save yourself a headache! Where are you located anyway?

i rode in a low mileage ty before and it pinned me... this had a little bit of go, but nothing like i remember from 5 years ago..... its located about 15 miles north of pittsburgh. Crawled underneath it, the frame is scaly but not real bad, body is ok underneath... i have some pics on my phone... it is vin 1gdct18z5p0811179

Sounds like a "Mint" Typhoon. Lol... Honestly most of that list is normal.

So if the dealer guy told you that... he'd really take 3000 for it :)

figure out parts value of the truck, and offer 25% below that, Id offer 2500 tops because its worth 3k in parts if all the cladding is good, Id be willing to bet if you lift the truck the floors and quarter panels are rotted, but the cladding hides it. IMHO this is a parts truck nothing more

thanks for the link... i told the car lot guy to call him and offer him 3,000 after i drove it and he said he wouldnt bother cause he wont take it and he'd have it shipped down to him if it doesnt sell, the mustang from the pics is at the lot too and its in just as poor of shape. I said the same thing about feeling like the suspension is worn out and he says he inspected it and everything is tight and perfect:rotf:

i thought it might be worth it to offer 3500 to drive and beat it this winter and part it out when something major lets go.....

That sounded like a good start, if someone wanted it bad enough for $3500 to have some fun with whats another 500 bucks? Nice Typhoon in the rough. Could be worse like others said it runs.
