Weather should be good on Wed.

If the pump does show up tomorrow I doubt I'll have time before Wed night drags. I work Mon & Tues, Wed's off, don't want to risk not making a trip to Infineon. I having withdrawal.

Picked up 5 gal of real meth today for $4.78 / gal so if nothing else will burn out the old stuff.

I'll keep you posted.

Re: Fuel Pump swap

Don - I'm going to try and get off work at 2pm on Wednesday and head up there. Got my 3-4 WOT upshift fixed and want to bust into the 12s. Hope to see you there

Re: Fuel Pump swap

Slight delay in the proceedings. Apparently missing some parts. But I wanted to show the filter that came from the old pump. What you sort-of see is a small hole in the middle. The remainder appears to totally clogged. I'm surprised the thing even ran.

Re: Fuel Pump swap

No, somehow I'm missing some items. Gonna leave it at that for now.

The last time I did a fuel pump swap in my daily driver, it took me and my bud about 35 minutes from start to finish. I guess we both have been around these trucks for too long...

yea this is my first one and i started on it yesterday :( and i still didn't prolly get half way done with it..i dont see how you got those bolts on the fram off the bed.. i can't get in there with like anyhting except a LONGGG extention on my ratchet, and that takes off preasure to the bolt..

I know that my post was pretty lengthy, but that was covered in the second paragraph of my post... Removing the lines from the sending unit is the hardest thing to do followed by removing the bolts that hold the bed in IMO.

You are going to need extensions to get on the bolts that hold the bed on. Chances are they will be VERY tight if they have never been off before. The bolts are 15 MM, three of each side. There is one one each side of the wheel with the third one being at the very back of the truck in the "C" section of the frame near the bumper. Removing the spare tire will give you more room to work. A 18" long 1/2" drive breaker bar works super if you have one. If you have air and an impact wrench, even better.
