Horn / DM fuse? Battery drain

I finally figured out what is draining my battery. I tested the current draw with doors closed and hood light off and found 200ma. Then pulled Horn/DM fuse from the fuse block and get about 20ma or so. So I am pretty sure that's what's killing my batt. Anyone know what is on that circuit? My dome light is out right now and the horn is not sounding. What else would be drawing from that circuit?

Can it draw current even when it is off? lol that sounds like a dumb question but you never know with a SYTY

I kept popping horn/DM fuses left & right. Measured the current draw & found that there was a slow drain. When the radiator fans came on I could see the headlights dim. Tried a lot of different things. Wound up being a problem with the high wattage headlight harness I installed. Once I pulled the harness out all the problems went away. Haven't tried to fix it since I pulled it out.

I'm not popping fuses, just getting a dead battery after letting it sit for 5 days or so.

I put in a kill switch that mounts near the battery.... I guess I should have built a few extra.

Re: Horn / DM fuse? Battery drain

Tried troubleshooting this weekend.

With the dome light out, glove box light off, ash tray light off (do we even have one?) and all interior lights out I still have 200ma drawn. I tried plugging in the cig lighter and current went way up so I know the lighter isn't ON, but it could still be drawing.

I need to open up my dash and disconnect my cig lighter and stereo and see if that helps the drain.

Does anyone know if our mirror lights are supposed to come on with the ignition off? I know mine only come on with the key on in the ignition.

It is possoble the horn relay is always picked-up. This could happen if the horn button is stuck down, or if the horn wire is broke/disconnected and touching ground.Check the button area, or just pull the relay and see if current drops. The coil for the horn relay would draw about 200ma if it is always energized. Good Luck!

I know the horn button works so that would eliminate it being stuck or broken wire, but I didn't check the relay.

Disconnected my older clarion cd player and now I have no drain. So I guess my cd player suddenly started to drain my battery. Time for a newer unit anyway

I just blew my fuse too. when I plugged the new one in I could hear the arc as it draws power. I think my glove box was open though. I will see if my battery drains. When my fuse blew my radio wens nuts. Not sure yet why a 20A fuse would blow for no reason??
