The next GAST meet is our bi-annual track day with the GA F-body Assoc. (GAFBA). Racing is on Sunday, but we try to meet up the whole wk-end. Details are:

When - Sept 22-24 (Fri-Sun)
Where - Silver Dollar Raceway (Reynolds, GA)
Who - All GAST members & GM performance vehicles (F-Body, Y-Body, GNs, etc...)
What - Fall GAST Meet (tentative schedule below)

Our meets are always laid back, but to provide some sort of structure, here's a simple schedule of what we usually do.

Friday - arrive, check in, meet/greet, eat, BS in parking lot till late
Saturday - show/shine, eat, wrench/tune in parking lot, eat, BS in parking lot again
Sunday - track opens @ 9 am, check out, race all day, depart

The track fee is (based off past meets) $10 for spectator and $20 for driver. This may be altered since it's a track day (could be $10 or $15 for driver). I'll find out more soon (a good buddy of mine is the GAFBA prez).

Room rates - $59.99 per night for 2 adults. I may negotiate a cheaper rate (group), but it won't be any more than this. We can usually book rooms pretty easily here and there are plenty of restaurants, parts stores, etc... around. Plus, it's only 15-20 min to the track. Wait on final price to book rooms.

RACING INFO

- We'll be racing in the "X" class (non F-Body) if anyone wants to bracket race.
- Time trials start @ 10:00 am and Eliminations start a few hours later.
- There is plenty of time during the Eliminations to do time trial runs.
- Those racing in "X" class will be eligible for "Best Reaction Time" award (I think).
- Have access to a helmet.
- Have a master battery disconnect wired up if the battery is relocated.
- Have a coolant overflow/catch can hooked up.
- Turn OFF air conditioning once you enter the staging lanes.
- Have your number printed clearly on your side window (I'll have shoe polish).

Not that Tech will actually bust you (they've let me go w/o a battery disconnect in the past), but we just don't want to ruffle any feathers (being a small group and the grace of the F-Body group to continuously allow us to attend their meet). So, don't blow up on the track......

If you can make it to this meet, please reply saying so. I'd like to give the GAFBA gang an idea of what size parking area we'll need. I also intend to get there early on Sunday and get a spot for us up near the tech tent (which is right next to the staging lanes), so we have the shortest distance to drive to stage.

Man, I wish..... I had alot of fun last time, especially almost killing myself on the mini bike.

Silver Dollar was a nice track too.... out in BFE, but nice.

I wish we could have at least the same FL turnout as last year. I had a blast as well. Guess we'll hafta wait for the next FAST/GAST meet to see you guys again.

Progress is being made......it rained both Monday & Tuesday and since I took off, worked on my cladding. I've almost got them ready to prime and paint. Man for some reason I have become very precise with how my cladding fits the Ty now. It looks like I'm gonna make this one.

One month away, guys. 6 SyTyers committed at this point, but we need more. I'd like to have the biggest truck turnout yet (last year we had 7) at this meet. I'm gonna call the hotel next week, so I'd like to have a rough head count by then.

I'll be there Friday afternoon (about 5:00 or 6:00), so if anyone gets there early, I should be out and about. I'm gonna call the hotel Friday and negotiate a room rate, so if anyone is sharing rooms with another member (as I am), please speak up. I don't wanna get a 10 room rate and have 5-6 get filled.
