I believe the stock compression ration on an LS1 is 10.1:1.....that doesn't make for a happy motor when you put boost to it. You might get away with running a few pounds (4-5 MAYBE) before you blow the thing up, but I'm really not sure. I know if you were planning on running a full boosted LS1 that you'd want to drop the CR down and add forged pistons at the very least.....NA motors + turbo = BOOM.

That's kind of a loaded question. It could only be .5 pounds if it is not getting enough fuel. I would say that 5 to 8 psi conservative. Might be best to ask the LS1 guys though.

Try http://www.ls2.com/forums/

Lots of LS1 info there.

5-8 is what I have heard most the ls1 guys running on normal builds. How much boost you can run has as much to do with tune as it does compression in some ways.

Bad tune it won't take much, good tune you can give it more.

6 on a stock compression motor.

8 on a motor with 6.0 heads to drop compression

8+ with above heads and intercooler

I've seen some supercharged cars do 10+ with no issues. The LS2 motor can handle more boost.

Rings on #7 piston will be the first thing to go for some odd reason. There isn't conclusive data as to why that cylinder goes first, but it has been discussed IN LENGTH, trust me.

Just for reference, a co-worker ran 130mph in the 1/4 with a 6psi procharger on his '04 Z06. Stock motor, only bolt ons.

ls1 with 6.0 heads, good tuning. My buddy ran 20psi in his setup with the sts turbo, but droped the boost to 14 to to blow up the motor.
