Oil Pressure gauge reads about 120

I noticed today while on the way to work that my check gauges light tripped and I look to see whats up. My OP gauge is right at or just past the 12 o'clock posistion. I pulled over immediately and shut her down. I open the hood and check the oil level. It's normal. I restart it and the gauge goes back to a normal reading after inital start up...a little over the 1/2 way point of 40 or so. I start to drive again and a minute or two later same thing. I know I have read about the gauge flop thing. I drove it the rest of the way to work approx. 5-6 miles. I do not hear any noises that weren't there already. I am a little overdue for an oil change but WTF. I do not want to pay the dealer to troubleshoot so, anything to start with let me know.

typical crappy factory gauges.. many people have gauges that spin all the way around and rest on the backside of the stop. Oil pressure is probably fine, just a faulty instrument cluster.

Don't know 'bout our setup but in general elec gauges that peg are shorted to ground somewhere. That's old school though may not apply anymore.
