Pontiac and Rice for dinner:

So my wife and I get to have a date night and we decide to go see "click" Adam Sandler (good movie by the way)
Anyhow.. on the way there I was driving the Typhoon (I know call CNN right?)
And a new Pontiac Solarass or what ever you call that waste of 2 seater POS pulls next to us at a light and some ricer in back of us rev'n his weedeater up.
I think the Solarass and the ricer had been playing around before they got to this light with us there.
I watched the cross road light turn yellow and I brought it up .. not even into boost.. just a little bit. Our lanes get the green and I stab the throttle. Out of my preveral vision I see the headlights from the Pontiac stay with me till the boost gauge reads 18lbs. Glance back and the headlights are gone from beside the car and are in the side mirror now.
At this point we are going into 2nd gear. The Pontiac fades into my rear view mirror and the rice guy is further back than him! I let out of it seeng that it was not much of a contest.. I wonder what the guy was thinking when a SUV spanked his 30-40,000 toy? :rotf:
We got to the next light and were turning right to the theater. The ricer guy was giving me a crappy look
I smiled and laughed as I turned right... Wasn't expecting a two for one!

Re: Pontiac and Rice for dinner:

There is a turbo version out that would put up a better fight. It's called the GXP (or Saturn Sky Red Line) and it has the 2.0 L Ecotec, with a turbo, that makes 260 HP.

Not that it would beat a SyTy, but it would've held with you a little better

Thanks... I don't get to drive the truck often so it's fun when I get to have a excuse to get on it a little bit... The Pontiac and the Ricer are't exactly much of a challange but it sure is fun. :)

Solstice is only $24k fully loaded, and will gladly hand you your ass in anything but a straight line.

I agree. 1/4 is fun, but a real race has turns. And not only LEFT-hand ones (that's for you NASCAR idiots).

That hip thrusting Storm Trooper is funny as hell..... LOL

I've never been into turning left or right going fast. Most of my cars have too skinny of a tire up front;)

I don't have the talent for that kind of racing anyway.... I do like watching people try and smash their

cars into the walls! :)

Re: Pontiac and Rice for dinner:

I threw out a generic price... It was a guess at best. Thanks for the price check!

I don't plan on buying a new car ever!
When I see a Esclade go'n for 50,000+ (I did check the price on those).. seems like a waste of money. Value go's down faster than you can drive it.

Reminds me of the T-shirt: 500 miles is a drive, 1/4 mile is a race.
