We ended up wiht the "Broken Truck" award... not exactly what we were looking for at our first Nationals but we had a good time anyway

Congrats Rentz for winning the tranny... How many damn tickets did you buy man? :rotf:

Thank you to the guy wiht the Green Typhoon who followed my wife and I back to the motel from the track... You've got guts to be in back of a Typhoon that could launch a crankshaft at any moment!!! Appreciate the help!

The event staff did alot of hard work and it showed! Thanks!

Everyone there had a good time on Saturday after the event.. had alot of great conversations about the trucks and other topics... Video games on a projector, music , rotten dead fish eating and alot of drinking.
Next year we'll need a dumpster for all the beer bottles and cans... the hotel has one hell of a mess to clean up :)

A HUGE thanks to Rich Eartly who has offered to donate a used short block for my wife's truck. That's going to be awsome!!!!

If anyone has some L35 head's they'd like to sell please let me know!

Great to meet all of you in person and we'll be there again next year!

Re: Thanks for everthing....

Some others on this board want you to believe that we run off new members of the nats.
Scott and Heather's experience is the reality
I met a number of new people and new trucks that were having a great time.
Why? because they came to have fun and meet fellow enthuisists

If Rich had brought that motor you can bet that people who had never met Scott or Heather would have walked up and offered to install it AT THE EVENT.

Moral of the story...Don't listen to Marlboro Ty or the bully crew because your experience at the SyTy Nationals varies depending on YOUR OWN attitude.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the right reasons and had a great time.

Great to met you also Scott and family. Sorry it turned out like it did, also sorry I didn't have more time to sit back and have some good conversations. Had a lot of things going on and felt bad for not being able to talk more.

I am not far from you, if you need help let me know.

Thank you... I will some help re-programing the chip you made me that I was VERY happy with. I'll need a lesson with the Tuner Pro and Auto Prom with the new code and how to setup the wideband to be intergrated.
Jimmy is getting me a set of L35 heads that I can freshen up for the short block.
I don't mind putting in the hours for the repair.. I actualy enjoy it. Hope to have it running in 3wks.
I knew once we got there you had alot to do with Robert's truck and I've been that way with my customers stuff so it's no problem.. totaly have been there and understand.
I'll come down in a few weeks for help with laptop setup and re-program..
Thanks for the help!!!!!

I plan on making the trophy for next years "Broken Truck Award" from what parts will come out of ours this week... I'll post pics...

Captin Morgan... Can you allow me to post pic's of the carnage?
Thanks!
Scott!!!!

Scott - are you going to be installing the engine at Rich's or bringing it back to Indy? If you are doing it at Rich's I'll be more than happy to give you guys a hand.

Re: Thanks for everthing....

I'll be getting the engine from him and tearing it down here at my shop. I'll send the crank up to my machiene shop for a polish and get all the parts(rings/bearings/gaskets/cam/chain ect) and put it together. It'll take longer to go get the engine than to build it. I live in Elkhart which is about a hour from his house.
That's going to be such a blessing to have that block. From the sounds of mine right now I bet I could save the dipstick!!! Lol..

The Trophy for next years broken truck should be awsome. Then who ever breaks next year can donate their broken parts for a trophy... That'd be cool...

Thanks for the offer!!! Your welcome to come down and have a few beers on the weekend and help/shoot the $hit. That's most of the fun :)

Sweet... the beer and dinner's on me... :friends: We always have a good time here at the shop on projects... plenty of good friends and fun.

I'll be pulling it this week and heading up to get the other block on Saturday. I'll order the parts when I know the bore size and bearing size. One guy had mentioned a specific head gasket that everyone was using now. Any clue what that was? Humm...
Better get on the the phone with Crane and get a bump stick and lifters on the way!

Maby I'll dig around in my realy old parts and cut down one of my small block cams :rotf:

Boy.. it's been a long time since I've seen 8 holes.

Thanks again

Man sucks about the Engine - just make sure you take the old engine out and put the new one in.

What i mean is don't decide well since the engine's out maybe i should do this and then this and why not this.

LOL - glad you had a great time

Re: Thanks for everthing....

Syborg.... I thought about doing just what you said... well.. now would be a good time for the 4L80 coversion and the paint and... and.. and...
After thinking about it.. We were darn happy with the way it was running so with a little done with the new engine and a Turbo/50lb/hr injectors... I think I'll put it back together and peice together the parts this winter for the 4L80E conversion to do in the spring.
I think if I decide to do more than that it'll sit forever. That's not what I want for the truck.
Good advice...!

Dalwine... Be glad to talk to you again.. I'll fill ya in on the details about the Nats.. :)

Thanks for the link for the head gaskets... :)

Re: Thanks for everthing....

It should take about 3weeks to complete the engine build. So the weekend of the 28th would be my guess on install and fire up.... Unless somthing changes...

This could be a prity good sized Typhoon party :) Maby I'll get a Keg...

What's jimmy up to that weekend? I'll even supply the paperclip!

Its awesome to see how motivated you are to get it running again w/in the same month of destroying it. Good luck to hitting the mark! You definately need a 2nd/backup truck - wifey will need something to drive while you finish painting it
