How to win a raffle, by Mike Renz

1st off, again - thanks to George Blake and Jeff Scott (Prime Gears and JS Manuf respectively) for the incredible raffle prize donation. You'd think i just won $1M, but i'm ecstatic, elated, bouncing off the walls, etc...but can't get over the fac that I won this tranny. Some people might think I outweighed the competition, but you coulda bought 1/2 the available raffle tickets too :rotf:

Some asked how many tickets I bought...well, about this many:

Anyway....my advice to win a raffle is to buy more tickets  Everyone plop down more $$ next time - it's going to a great cuase anyway. This is the main reason i was willing to drop $293 in tickets

See Renz I knew you would do something productive with your raffle tickets.

I nominate this thread for the Vault ;)

Years ago we'd do fundraisers for a local service club. No wimpy 3 tickets for $5.00 (or whatever) for us. That was just a starting point. After that is was your height for 10, around your wife's, er chest, for 20 and whatever else we could dream up. We didn't care about the tickets we wanted the money. And yes it was for a good cause.

congrads on the tranny renz - but may i ask what happened to your hair
I gave myself a Chuck Lidel makeover the morning of departure for NATS. Mohawk + foomanchu = many funny looks as you stop for gas in random states across the US

:rotf: :rotf: Funny-$$ thread!

1. Chuck Lidel has craps that are bigger than you, so don't even go there. ;)

2. Looks like you have experience posing for mugshots. Scarey.

3. Why are you shifting? Isn't that an automatic? :rotf:

Oh...congrats on the win!

This was one of the funnest donations to nats I have been apart of. I suggested the raffle idea to the nats organizers as a way to earn some extra cash for expenses and maybe even leave some in the pot to help fund next year.

Having it go to someone who had enough faith in the nats to donate almost $300 in tickets was even better for me.

George does a great job on the tranny stuff and really knows his work. Although trannies have been given away in the past, I would like to think we topped the list for best prize donated this year.

We should have put in the rules, that the winner MUST drive the truck and trans to the following years nats though.

one way or another...i will do my very best to make this happen. The only reason i would tow the truck there would be in concerns for the motor, NOT the tranny.

I have some pics I need to post up that my wife took. It felt really good to make someone's day. You have no idea  Oh, my son had a mohawk all summer and he never quit talking about your haircut the whole time we were in the hotel room:lol:

Hopefully next year some other venders will get more involved. If your a vender, you need to come. It really does make you feel good when you find out someone really wanted it and the procedes go to making the nats happen again next year.

Renz, you joked about sending me emails for help. Don't worry about it, that's what I'm here for. If you want to ask down in my forum, you can do that as well.

I must say though, I've never seen a transmission molested quite that way :git:
