Be very carefull!!! I had a problem with my CBR conversion and the bolts holding the caliper to the brackets backing off and eventually falling out. Talked to two others at nats that had the same thing happen. I would recommend going back and using red lock tite with those 4 bolts.
BTW I ground my stop off the bracket too. I was told by manufacturer that only at full extension of front suspension, with the wheels turned does the stop need to be there. But under what circumstance would you have the wheels turned at full extension?

The stops on the spindle must be ground off to allow the bracket to fit. The bracket has a peice of steel welded to the bracket as the new stop. I took a grinder to it today and now I am happy with the way it turns. Thanks everyone for the help. This has been a new experence for me working on a SY. Remember I only have had one for 8 months. The CBR kit was a very high quality kit. It was just the first time I did a brake kit myself. Support on CBR's end was great.

Did you take it apart and lube everything up ( back of the pads, caliper slides, area where the caliper touches the caliper bracket ) ?? Brake squeaks are caused by very small vibrations where all the surface areas touch each other. Thats why on some vehicals they have alot of anti vibration clips to help keep squeaks down. You can also try and rough up the face of the pads with some sand paper in a NON-directional way to help, use something aggressive 80-150 grit, whatever. Take the rotors back off and scrub them with some soap and water and then hose them off, they put a coating on rotors when they are new called Cosmoline to keep the rotors from rusting while they sit on the shelf. It should be scrubbed off before they are installed, but it can't hurt to try.

I hosed down the rotors with carb cleaner and scrubbed them good with a rag. The sound is not ordinary brake squeaking sound. It sounds like a bus when it stops. The pads are very aggresive looking. I hope its just them breaking in. I did a brake kit on my tri-5 and did not have any problems.

Did you bed the brakes in, or just start driving around normally? You should go out and do about 10 medium braking stops from around 35 mph and then let the brakes sit for 24 hours. This is supposed to let the brakes get fully up to temp and then cool evenly. I have done this every time I do brakes and have never had a problem with squealing.
