"Stealth mode" - SyTy w/o decals

waiting
I've seen some sy/tys that have all the syclone or typhoon decals off them. I personally think that looks clean... so here is why I mentioned it...
Would doing that lower the price of the sy/ty?
Is it hard to do and will it damage anything?
Will it come completely off with no scratch marks or sticky stuff left?
Is it too much of a hastle to do?
Am I just wasting time bringing this up?
I think that's it. Tell me what you guys think about the look and answers to those questions would be much appreciated

I dont see it affecting the value (you can get replacements)...... well unless its a marlboro  Its not hard to do, I used goo be gone or something like that. I only used my fingers(nails) never use razorblades unless your 100% comfortable with scratching your truck if you do.I have used dental floss on other cars. More than likely under the sticker will not be faded like the rest of the truck.

Yes this was a waste of time.

I took mine off for the sleeper effect and I like debadged vehicles, with the exception to my license plate (TRBOBOX) and the RPM sticker in my backwindow.

I took mine off with 80 grit sandpaper....

then again it was getting all new paint.

It wont devalue your truck and if thats the look you are after go for it.
Mine only has the tailgate decal so the loser knows what hit em and a GMC truck "Motorsports" decal to distinguish that it is not just some other GMC truck.

They were ... mine had the decals removed by the dealer before we even took delivery, per request of my dad. I have replacements, but I like the stealth look, and as of yet I have not met a person who knew what it was and thought it was a blemish to not have them

Are they still available from the stealership?

I am not 100% sure, you get them from graphic concepts still though (where GM gets them from)

Yup. Right company, wrong spelling ;) . Used to be Bill Rupp was the person to speak to at Graphik Concepts regarding our decals...

EDIT: Dang, Dave beat me to it...

I bought this big rubber eraser thing that goes on the end of a drill (called decal eraser) and it worked really good no buff or streaks after. Took about 10 min to get them off can't tell they were ever there. But now I get the nice zo6r rims on the sonoma alot.

i had to strip my decals for paint... i dont particuarlly like the naked look myself. they will be going back on when I repaint the entire truck.

really dont care if people recognize the truck or not.... either way, they will be looking at my tailgate and me going :bigfinger

...some folks painted their vehicles, and never replaced the emblems (for one reason or another).
...some folks changed the placement, or color of their emblems to match grill work or window graphics
...some folks deleted, or muted the colors, for stealth reasons
...some folks "cleaned" the lines of their vehicles (removing roof rack, gutters, door handles, antenna, etc)
thus facilitating emblem removal
...some folks, like Jasons pro-Syclone, reproduced factory look (with correct lenses, graphics etc)
...some folks street race (and dont want to advertise)
...some folks have 1-of-a-kind vehicles (prototypes, Stokes Vehicles, Pace Trucks, Marlboros, etc)
and thus want different/improved looks
...and some add graphics to replicate GM/GMC promotions.

Its all individual, but there are good vendors on this site to help you create the look/feel your after.
A good hairdryer will help you remove most emblems - and even dealer graphics is usually only
glued on (versus the days when holes were drilled to stick their emblems on). But Im
probably not stating anything new with the above info...
