I have started to refinish my stock rims, it seams that they were never taken care of.
So I did some searchs and asked some questions, with a little luck and lots of elbow grease they should come out sweet!!!
Things being used: Aircraft paint stripper, 3M pads #7447 and a can of clear coat.
So I started with 1 of the caps tonight and took lots of pictures of the process. (about 30 minutes total)
Here is a image of the cap before I started, it's seams like the clears was flaking off !!

Now with the Aircraft paint stripper applied to it. this is what it looks like after 2 minutes.
Stripper doing its job
After waiting 10 minutes I used a old dish sponge that was damp to scrub off the stripper and used a bucket filled with water and car soap to rinse of the cap.
Looks clean but you can see were the clear had cracked of and allowed some staining..
Clean but needs work
So I used the 3M pad on the cap, 1st focusing on the staining and then working the hole cap.
Looking good
I then washed it down and started to paint, I gave it 3 coats of clear and i do thing it looks good. I do hope that the rest of the rims looks as good this!!
looks sharpe
I will start on the rims later this week and will post pictures
