Re: Hogging the market on ebay
Well boys, I hate to say but we have a damned if you do and danmed if don't situation going on here.
Every body is wanting the value of our trucks to go up (well most of us anyway) and when guys like customrestore come into a little money and start buying the market, we get what we want (higher value) even if it is a temporary situation for the most part, some of this will stick and trucks will sell higher now.
Now we have some that feel the price or availability sucks. Can't have your cake and eat it too unless you want to pay for it (in this case). Same thing has happened with most of the muscle car market. Just look at the Mopar situation, I never in my life thought I would see the day when a gutted, rusted (bad) AND wrecked E body, GTX, Roadrunner, Dart ect. would would bring 10K plus just for a shell little less 100K for a BB Cuda or Challanger! Damn I can kick myself for all the cars that we bought just for a BB engine or tranny and sent the rest of it to the crusher for $300-$600 bucks or that we passed on cause the original owner wanted $1800 - $2500 for that "old Dodge with bad paint and a cracked dash" parked behind the house in the back yard.
Point is, the deals are still out there. Yes they are harder to find and you may have to wait a long time (years even) and drive to other states ect. but they can still be had even though it's not like afew years ago when their was "25-40 old Chrysler's, or Mustang / Camaro's etc. listed in YOUR AREA at any given time". I just picked up an all original 71' 383 Challanger w/ factory power disk brakes, Ralley Pkg., factory A/C and power windows, old guy tan with a white vinyl top, a little rust in the trunk and a bad dash with 57,867 orig. miles for $4,800 bucks! (Don't tell warmpancakes!)
And this a weird optioned and rare car.
Just gotta wait and keeeeeeeep look'in!
