noise coming from power steering

i rebuilt front end, used zq8 box, waller shaft and all new idler, pitman, tie rods, etc.

i am going to try to describe best i can, the noise you hear when you lock steering(almost every vehicle i have been in), i am assuming its from the pump.
but driving around in town, pulling in and out of parking spots, i am hearing a similair noise as if the steering is locked, but steering might be at 75% of full length.
so is my pump bad?
it just seems weird it started happening as soon as the rebuld was done.
or is this normal for the parts i have?
thanks

check the fluid? it can take a while to get the air out of the system if youve had all the lines off

I replaced my steering box and steering pump. I used a ZQ8 box and AGR pump from summit. You really have to make sure you have all the air out of the system. Sometimes it takes awhile. I had similar issues. I jacked up the truck and moved the front wheels by hand, lock to lock almost 40 times. Do this with the engine off. Don't use the steering wheel. It is what was recommended to me when I had the same problem, and I didn't believe it would work. but it did. I also use valvoline synthetic.
