Here is a poll for the old question of pillar pods...

"What gauges do you have?" or "What gauges should I have?"

Here is the place to answer this!

Autometer Lunar series Boost, Elec. Fuel press & N.O.S. Press. I like the Lunar series because the green glow matches quite well with the guage face overlay and my Teal green Ty. I also just got one of the Autometer over head triple mounting consoles for a few more guages.

Syclone:

"Autometer mechanical boost and SPA dual gauges (boost, trans temp & fuel pressure, intercooler temp). Also, gauge power switches (to reset max stored values in SPA's) and TCC lock up switch."

Former S10:

"Auxiliary instrumentation in my S10. Autometer 2 1/16" Phantom water temperature, oil pressure, transmission temperature and Sunpro 2 5/8" tach."

All pillar pods aren't created equal:

"Comparison pic taken by board member, Lotek vs. Autometer"

I prefer the Autometer pillar pod over the Lotek one.

I don't run a pod, but I have a dual function oil / trans temp gauge under my climate control, a wideband on the console (going to hardwire eventually with a gauge) and an autometer Z-series boost gauge on the glovebox door

You can see the pod under the dash... I have a digital Norskdog trans temp with high point recall

All Autometer stuff I bought from Hood, input switching and indicators are home-made:
Mechanical boost guage (no pic)
Electrical temp guage with 4 inputs:

Electrical pressure guage with 4 inputs:

yes, led's are for alky. Top one turns green/red depending on system status. bottom one is low alky tank.

Hey when did Autometer start making a pod? How is the fit / finish / color compared to the Lotek?

In my pillar, from top to bottom:

Exhaust
Fuel Pressure (electric with hi/lo memory)
Boost (w/LEDs for alky 'on' and 'low alky')

In my overhead console

Oil temp
Trans temp

All Autometer phantoms with 5W polarg bulbs.

I got the exhaust temp because it is a good tuning tool that you can't really get anywhere else. I can get A/F on the laptop, along with boost, MAP, TPS, etc. Never hurts to have another data point. Wish I didn't have to look so far UP to see if I'm about to melt anything. It's nice having the fuel pressure and boost next to each other too. If you are on a straight road where you can divert your eyes for just a minute, always nice to make sure the fuel is rising pound for pound with the boost. I put the slow moving gauges up top since they aren't checked as often.

I plan to put in Boost, fuel, and trans I think in my Ty. My LT1 Tyclone is getting some but Im not sure what yet. I have the pod, just no gauges yet.
