Stock wheel with drag radials

I thought that I read that someone was using the stock wheels with a little larger tire (255/50/16) for use with a drag radial. Did I miss? I was looking on tire rack and not a drag radial is listed for 245/50/16's. My bro uses nitto's on his GN, all I see is BFG's. For those using drag radials, which do you guys like?

I have a set of nitto's and they held up pretty good when it comes to wear, but the bfg's are more sticky. If you're just using them at the strip then BFGs, street/strip=nittos so you can have them for about a year ;)

X2, Nitto's will live longer but if the other guy has M&H's, M/T's or BFG drag radials, he will get you off the line.BTW, my personal recomendations in that order for the drags in a 16" tire.

I have Mickey Thompson drag radials on my stock wheels, 255/50/16, they work great.

Thanks for the info! For those who use the 255's, is it worth going the extra 10 mm?

I would say nay just for the sake of going bigger but a lot of the 245 tires have been discontinued / replaced with 255's. I think (not 100% sure) that all the drag radials are 255 now?

The others are right. Discount tire direct has Nitto's that are the stock wheel size. I will go with those.
