comp 415 vs comp 422 cams?! ---

I heard the 112 lsa on the 415 will give you more of a LOPE ... but the 114 lsa on the 422 is better for boost. What are your assumptions?! I plan on around 500hp and high 11's for my build ( ported l-35's, pte63 turbo, and atr headers) .... thanks ---

Even though it has more lobe speration (which is measured from the centers), the additional duration of the 422, probably means it has more overlap. I personally would stick with a 415. I am either going to do a 415 or custom cam similiar to 415.

FWIW, a 412 will do high 11's no prob too. I've gotten the impression that the 415 is a great hybrid cam for street and track use. I've seen a 412 go 10.68 actually.....

ooooh I think I am leaning back to the 415 for my setup. I will have mccoy ported l35's, 1.6 rr's, a pte63 turbo, 3"dp....3" exhaust, atr headers, alky kit, and an a/a intercooler. THANKS for the input...I was SO close to changing my mind and going 422. Still up in the air for more suggestions though :) ---

Is the truck going to be totally street driven? If so, do the 415.

I have a 422 in my truck ... running a GT35-R and 492 hp at the flywheel on 18psi and 93 octane. I have vortec's though. I would recommend against using it, I've had trouble with my idle quality and tuning, and I feel like the truck would do better with less overlap (especially in terms of building boost). I think I may swap to a 415 sometime in the future.

That said, my truck still goes like stink even with the stock converter allowing only 4psi off the line :p

sorry off topic, Do you know what your truck makes at the wheels?? ive been trying to figure out drivetrain loss in our trucks.
I have a custom comp cam: it is a 412 intake lobe and a 415 exhaust lobe on a 114 lsa and it made 400hp on a awd dyno @ 17psi w/ stock heads and it idles and drives nice. really streetable

It will be street driven 95% of the time, but will see the track a few days this summer. I guess I will go for the 415 then , THANKS everyone :) ---

JJ52 ... thanks for your input on the 422 ---
