dissasambling the old engine i found these gaskets in there, Felpro Headgaskets, blown at cilinder number one.

Yea, I went thru the same issue with the shop that built my motor. They put in felpro gaskets because the catalog listed them for a 4.3 even though I paid for Cometics. I got into an argument with the individual and the only way I could get him to understand was for him to look up a Buick 3.8l and show him that the Grand National 3.8 was a totally different listing. Then I asked him to look up a Sy / TY to see if there was any listing. No matter what I still loose.

I love the felpros in my SVO and GN :2cents: What is it about them that you don't like?

well, the headgaskets for the 4.3 don't come near the quality of the 4.3 victor reinz gaskets. the victor reinz gaskets have that graphite surface what IMO holds a bit better.also i don't believe they were made for Turbo charged engines.
