DIY Madman
Hey all,
I know there are a few of you guys around the valley. As most of you know, I'm making cladding molds. I have finally made progress with this project.
What I'm looking for is someone who is willing to temporarily donate a few pieces mainly from the wheel arches back. I was rear ended a couple years ago, and my pieces were damaged in the accident. I'd much rather mold off of original, untouched pieces rather than trying to repair mine. This is so I can make the best reproductions possible. I would be able to return your pieces within a week or so of giving them to me.
Here is the deal. If you were able to help me with this, I would not only compensate you for your time and use of the cladding, but also would give you a replica piece one at a time (after I make each mold), eventually giving you a complete set of cladding, for free.
You could take this and sell it if you like, or use it on your own trucks. Again, you also get your original pieces back. If you donate 2 pieces....you get 2 complete kits.....if you donate all 5 pieces I need....you would receive 5 complete kits. If you know how much cladding sells for, this could be VERY financially beneficial to you guys.
To assure you of the safety of your cladding, I would show you how I'm doing the molding process to assure you no harm will be done to your cladding. You could then make a decision if you would like to help me out. You can even witness pulling a part from the molding material to see how it will be completely safe to your cladding.
This offer would eventually go to Syclone owners as well, but not until I start molds for those parts.
The better the finish on the donated parts, the better the parts will come out.
If you decide to do this, please do not go taking off your cladding without taking a few precautions. Some bolts stick and can easily cause you to rip your cladding just by turning the bolts. If you try to take off some parts, please use some sort of penetrating lubricant so the bolts come out easily. I know this because I just tried buying cladding off ebay, and the guy didn't do this....and the parts I received were damaged.
If interested, please shoot me a PM. I'd like to talk to you about it.
Thanks,
