Re: 3 bar map sensor

not 100% sure but I think you need a 3 bar chip to work with the map sensor.

Re: 3 bar map sensor

if you go 3bar map sensor you will have to get a aftermarket boost gauge as the stock will be inaccurate, which you should get anyways, and have to get a 3bar chip.

Re: 3 bar map sensor

Stock map for syty's are 2 bar.
Im sure you know this, but average joe at the parts store probably doesnt.
The store computers dont always list the proper parts for these trucks.

Ditto on the parts store giving you the wrong one. I looked it up a while back and Advance Auto Parts and Autozone both had incorrect part numbers listed. They wouldve sold you a one bar, and your truck would run like crap if you tried to use it.

Just so things are clear if you get a OEM MAP sensor:

"MAP sensors, stock 2 bar on left #16009886 and 3 bar on right old number is #16040749 new # is #12223861. On the topside where the plug connects, there is a number for identification. 1 bar MAP=039, 460, 876 or 883. 2 bar MAP=012, 539, 609, 701, or 886. 3 bar MAP=749 or 861. The 4 digit number to the right refers to the date of manufacture "1100"= 2001, 100th day of the year."
