You TY guys.....
first you fight over whats better, a Sy or Ty.
now you fight over what year Ty is better....
I got to ride in a 93 for the first time. It was nice, but the squeaking back window is the first thing I noticed. Seats were nice compared to the SY.

The SyTyJedi drives a '92 Ty. That says it all right there.

Go with what the pros use.

They are all equally unreliable, 91 Sy through 93 Ty.

The 93 Typhoons are the best though... Anyone who says otherwise is in denial!

I have a 93' I like the way they look w/o the decals. Although I still have mine. Another nice thing about the 93' is......its "newer" and in case you didnt know newer always means better! Dont even get me started on the door handles of the 92'

WOW.

I expected a few responses, maybe a few reasons, but mostly exclamation points and fingerpointing, i.e., 93 rules! 92 Tys are weak!

But no. You all broke it down very nicely for me, and it seems that the differences are all pretty minor. Thank you!

And I do love me some Typhoon, no doubt about it, but reading through this thread has brought me to another question:

Is it ridiculous, or just stupid, to buy a 92/93 Typhoon without having a garage or workspace?

I haven't searched on this at all yet, I admit. Plus, I'm in San Francisco, there must be a great performance tuning place around here. I want a Typhoon like I want my hair back, but if they take a high level of maintenance skill or maintenance money, maybe I should just slap together a fox body Mustang.

I hope I haven't broken any laws by bringing up Mustangs.

Start finding a foxbody. SyTys are maintanance whores and do require some good diagnostic skills to figure out problems and keep in 100% running condition. New guys who really want the trucks come here and aquire about info dont want to hear that, but hey... truth hurts. Some dont listen and end up regretting it and losing their ass. At least you got a plan B.

What he said, It a must that you know how do to do your own work or (have alot of money). And having a garage is almost a must or a place that you can work on it (a friend shop with all the goodies). this being said, If you are the rebellious or (antisocial) type, ( that don't want to drive the same thing everyone else does) like most of us here. We always help each other out as we consider ourselves to be family. Then jump in or you can always wave good-bye to the Syclone/Typhoon that left you at the light. :rotf:

I dont have a garage or shop to work on my truck. I use my driveway or my friends. I dont have much knowledge on cars let alone sy/ty's but let me tell you..... Once you own one you will love it!! They can be a pain in the ass but a lot of problems are induced by the operator. Look at how many people on here (including myself) complain about what goes wrong, but how many do you see dumping their trucks because of it?? There really is nothing else like it. :syty:
