wow I didnt even pay attention to that, had a disaster of a night, got up to the line started boosting everything was going great the truck felt 100% better then the green hits I let go and bam she drops on her face, when I get off my friend says I broke a motor mount and probably twisted the linkage. s**t mother f***er, so I pop the hood and sure enough I do a little power brake and the motor wants to jump out of the truck, and now im having trouble finding my gears, cant get into reverse and with the shifter in R its now in N and so on. so a s**ty night for me and now the wife bitches even more so what are ya gonna do.

Re: on my way to the track

well, I jacked it up and I see nothing, I took the shifter apart and nothing, odd, I just cant seem to find N but when I put it in R the R lights go on but the truck dont move:roll: ,so now what, could the tranny be "FUBAR" it drives but sometimes I have to shift manually, hum strange, any ideas

Re: on my way to the track

here's what you do to check shit out....

jack the truck up, probably best to put all 4 wheels in the air since youre gonna be shifting the trans and stuff.

once the truck is in the air, go under and pull the shifter cable off the pin. Given that both the trans and gear selector are still in park, you should be able to put the cable loop back on the pin WITHOUT having to move the shifter linkage at all, or at least less than a hair.

If you cannot do this, then that could be part of your problem.

If you can get it on, then move the shifter into R, then move the arm on the transmission 1 click into the reverse position. Check to see if you can get the cable on the pin again.

Check and see if you can do that for all positions, R - 1. If everything is off just a little bit, try adjusting (bending) the bracket on the trans till things line back up.

Re: on my way to the track

I checked the bracket and it dosent seem to be bent at all, is it possible that I fried a gear?
