Ok, so I need the opinions of some other owners here, I can't seem to make up my mind.

I have an opportunity to get a set of sliding side windows for my typhoon. I personally have never seen these before nor even heard of them and thats really the main thing that catches my interest.

Now keep in mind I have basically a drag truck, its not drive on the street to often unless its for a cruise with the wife, it has no accessories, no AC heat radio no nothing.

So do I go for the sliding side windows or no? I am sure it would help with the warm weather approaching, and weight really isn't an issue, it would really only be 10lbs heavier or so.

So do I do it or not?

Although they are cool and functional, they are fuggly IMO...no.

The money aspect really isn't an issue. I would basically be borrowing them. I am talking strictly on looks.

Now I have never seen a truck with them, if anyone has any pics please post.

Well yeah I assumed so because of the mechanics of making them slide, but how much really? I have shed quite a few hundred from the truck without touching the interior so if its like 10lbs give or take its no big deal, and least its not over the front of the truck either.

Just thinking out loud, still not sure which route i want to go, someone post pics please!!

....sounds like another entry point to steal your vehicle and/or its items to me.
Theres several companies that even make "vent windows" as well, but I wouldn't want them personally
(for those wanting that old-time look).

Not that your asking, but....
Im a bit surprise you`d even have the rear seat installed, since its "lightened" somewhat.
You know you can delete the rear wiper and rear "de-icer" as well (for a race vehicle).
Dunno if I would get rid of the outside mirrors, or windshield wipers tho.
Guess your keeping the passenger seat - and maybe going with a 6pt/rollcage with harness belts?

Ha Larry you bring up alot of points that I have discussed with people recently. Now I know I called it a drag truck in my first post but I do like to believe its a street truck. Not that is too legal or anything but I dont like the look of race cars.

The only modifications I plan on making on the inside are the shifter and my custom dash. I do not want to remove the interior and I refuse to get a cage because cages do not belong in street vehicles.

I will look into getting ride of the wiper and de-icer that you mentioned though. But the mirrors have to stay.

As far as seatbelts go, screw it, the ones that came from the factory are good enough for me, the way I see it with the new core support and all the lightweight stuff in the front I am screwed if i crash to begin with no why spend money on things that will not make me faster.

Once I can get the truck to a consistant single digit will do the other things. But that is really my main priority.

So it seems like its an overwhelming NO as far as the windows go...

I don't have a Typhoon yet, But why would you even think of doing this? On a brighter side it is easier to break into with these windows. If you want to loose weight, replace the existing windows with sheet metal and make it a panel truck.

not sure why you would want them, they might add some air flow for people sitting in the back, but why bother with them.
