Ok, so i'm new at this. My brother knows a lot more then me about syclone's and all these cars. but i just bought me a syclone and had like a whole bunch of ppl look at it to make sure it was in nice and good shape needs some paint and stuff but. i was wondering is it bad to spin the rear tires(only) in like a brake stand building up the boost? Becuase i saw someoen do it and i didn't think that was good. Also is it bad to like build up the boost and then just stop building it up without using it? Thanks for the help guys. I'm sure you all know more then me soo far ;)

Syclone are all wheel drive,How are you going to spin the rear tires?(unless you take out the front shaft) If you are spinning the rear tires, than you may need brake work, depending on how much boost you are building.

This one is a strange one. If you mean standing still, never moving, than yes it is very hard on the drivetrain. That poor trans wont last long.

Re: question

mm well then i think that guy needed some brake work done. does anyone by chance know what the compression should be around for the syclone? i was gonna do one but i couldn't find a link that would tell me what the compression should be around..

On a compression gauge I've head anywhere from 115 to 160psi.

Re: question

Ok. thanks for the info, but how about another question. Is it bad to build the boost up and let it off( not useing it)? can that rune the turbo in anyway or the engine in anyway?

On mine at 83,000 miles I got 4 at 155psi and 2 at 160psi stock never open up.

As far as building boost, If you mean standing still, never moving, than yes it is very hard on the drivetrain. That poor trans wont last long.

its definitely not gonna be good. automatic transmission - the fluid will get extremely hot extremely quick. it'd be like sitting on a hill with a manual tranny riding the clutch, youll eventually burn out the clutch.
