Fluid Recommendations

I run Royal Purple in all my vehicles.

I'm gonna flush all the fluid from my Sy before it hits the road this year.

I was gonna fill everything, (engine oil, tranny oil, diff oil, x-case) with all Royal Purple.

Does anyone advise me not to fill a particulay part with Royal Purple, or have any recommendations of any other brand that runs superior?

if you feel like replacing your trans soon, then definately run the Max ATF. Try searching the forum for Mobile 1 ATF and pretty much any synthetic transmission fluid thats used in our trannys.

8 out of 10 people on this forum will probably say stay away from synthetic trans fluid and just use standard Dextron III.

Go for it in everything but the trans. Stay with Dextron III and run a bottle of Lube Guard. (I think it call that) It's a red bottle at Napa Auto Parts.

Try searching the forum for Mobile 1 ATF and pretty much any synthetic transmission fluid thats used in our trannys.

partyboy had alot of posts about his tranny running good with Mobil 1 ATF.

oh, and i also found that when i change the tranny filter to get one for a 4L60/700r4 and not one for a -E, why?

NO! that is synthetic too. STAY AWAY FROM SYNTHETIC TRANNY FLUIDS.

I gotta agree with Morgan, standard Dex III or you roast the trans. Add the red Lube Guard and go.

Why is synthetic bad in our trannys?

because he helps add some slippage to you tranny creating mucho amounts of heat etc.. it's just not good haha

I recommend the TCI aluminum pan :2cents:

:stupid: It's solid, but may have to be made to fit in some instances. I had to grind the front of mine to clear the bell housing.

Definitely listen to Morgan. Synthetics are what killed my Trans. I didn't have a problem until I put that in. Hence the 80e that just went into my Ty with the help of JSMan...

So just use Dex III.

what about for the transfer case??? what weight oil should i use (probably specified in the owners manual, but i'm too lazy to look), and can i use synthetic?

When i got my truck i changed the trasfercase, rear diff and front diff with amsoil. As for the tranny which is on my list to do this summer after i put in a tranny cooler i will probably use amsoil. Still searching to see what people think about that.
