Finally have some numbers for the new build

Well, I went out tonight and got my first 0-60 numbers in my Sy. 3.35 sec :)

That was with a 5 PSI launch on street tires. I have TONS of tuning to do yet as I have a basic starter bin with only 2 revisions on the bin. I am heading to the track Wednesday evening and should have my camcorder mount done by then also.

With another couple weeks of tuning I should be able to get under 3 seconds to 60 on street tires on the street.

Later,
John

Once you get under 3 sec. 0-60, your average joe has a hard time believing that when you tell them. I pulled a 2.2 0-60, messing around, on the street, w/ my Gtech. I told some guys I was golfing with when the topic of 0-60 times of performance cars came up. They gave me a big BS look when I told them what my truck did.

I get the same looks all the time. I think it's because all the car mags make such a huge deal out of the exotics and other "fast" cars that run in the 3 sec range 0-60. They can't believe a GM S truck is actually faster LOL. Once they get a ride their tune quickly changes, though. I never get tired of looking at all the performance inspired cars that cost $100k+ that I can slaughter to at least 130mph.

Use to do a little Boost
Re: Finally have some numbers for the new build

Just to update. John and John went a 7.29 @ 95 mph in the 1/8 before recieving the boot from the track. Did it with a 12 psi launch and 18 psi max boost. Truck still has a fairly rough code $59 tune in it and plenty left. Atleast it gives us some where to start from. This was with with 92 pump gas too!

I must give much respect to him cus he assembled the engine his self! No store bought power here!

BTW It went 0-60 in 2.8 seconds on the 7.29 run. I guess we will have to let him back into the JSM/FBI crew. GREAT JOB. I am sure he will be shooting for 10's next weekend at Hamilton, OH.

You better tell me at track day.....:)

0565's vibration had a lot to do with not prepping the converter before installing it. Pilot needs to be clean and the mount surfaces all need to be clean. Gotta clean and grease the receiving pilot on the back of the crank. Makes a big difference. Once the converter was prepped, 99% of the vibration went away. Whatever was left was in the engine. Had some little birdies keeping me up to date on the progress.

I love watching all these guys suffer from the "power robbing" 4L80e. Sub 3 second 0-60. Amazing.

Anything you want to know in 0565's trans, I'm willing to share. Just make sure it's OK with 0565 first.

As of right now, all I have are Jeffs JSM coil-over kit on the front with 12-way adjustible QA1's. I still have not made up my mind of what I am going to do to the rear. Any idea's? :p
