Just run the race your truck was made for.. from a complete stock and short distance... If you do that, boost launch decent and if your truck isn't a total piece the other car will be forced to play catch up all the way thru the race and will increase the chances of him missing a shift or giving up etc from the big lead off the get-go you'll have on em.

The Z32's came out in late 89. I own a 5 Speed 91 TT. 141k on the ticker, My best time, bone stock bald tires, was 14.1 at around 100. First time ever at the track. With minor mods the Z cars run good, they hook great as far as a rwd car goes. I think a race with a stock ty would be close, but the Sy feels much faster than the Z, but the Z would eat it alive from a roll.

Agreed. Z will pull no doubt on top. Sy will take one through the quarter no problem though.

I owned a ''93TTZ for 9 years. Started stock and by the end it was 501rwhp. It could trap in the mid 120's and it would spin tires all the way to 100mph. As a comparison, Z32TT's have similar performance to Supra's both stock and modded. Traction is a major problem, subframe hopping is a major issue launching. Without a set of $60 spacers or drag radials, sub 2.1 60' times are very hard to get.

In short, if it's a non-turbo, you should take it from a dig or a roll. If it's a turbo, only race from a dig up to 80-100mph. A stock TTZ will trap at 104mph (6mph more than a stock Sy) and will run up to 165mph. The standard "Stage 3" Z's trap in the 110-115mph range depending on the tune.

I've done 4 of those timing belts also. Makes the Sy's engine bay look easy. Here's a pic of my old Z...

Nice car man. My dad had a 91 2+2. He wanted the turbo but at the time he couldn't have just 2 seats. I would like to have one one of these days.
