TPS% at WOT

TPS% at WOT only get to 80% at best and the TPS Volts is around 3.1 tops.

How can I get the TPS% to 100% WOT? I checked the throttle body by having a buddy put the pedal all the way down, the throttle opens all the way, no slack on the cable so I don't understand what the problem could be...

Thanks.

I dont think the sensors are adjustable, so it sounds like you just need to replace it.

I am sure the tps sensor is adjustable, you loosen the 2 screws a little then move the sensor.

My ass. Look at it.
Re: TPS% at WOT

I bent my gas pedal to achieve 100% TPS. The sensor is not adjustable, if the throttle lever is bottoming out and still not 100%, replace the sensor :)

I don't know about that Denny, I took the thing off and it doesn't look adjustable with out jerryriggin it somehow. Blew $40 on a new one but it had to be ordered. I'll post my results. If that doesn't work I'm going to try the pedal bend out. Thx

Its ajustable, you adjust it by moving the sensor. If you look at the mounting holes on the sensor, they are big holes or I think one has a big hole  . You adjust it by moving it up, down sideways until you get the the correct voltage, if you do a search here you will find what voltage you should have at idle.

Some have the larger holes and some don't from what I have found. In a pinch you can tak a round file or a Dremel tool and enlarge the hole to get some adjustment, same thing on some Fords.

Re: TPS% at WOT

the tps should be adjustable, has anyone seen the plug and play option for the tps. it plugs between the plug and the sensor. it will allow full tps volts (4.5 volts ) @ 60% throttle, this will give you more gas and the car should be a rocket, remember lean is mean but rich is cooler, which means longer motor life. i'll do some more research and see who makes the plug in adaptor.

so your saying that when your buddy puts the gas pedal to the floor you can not open the throttle blades any further by hand? i cant recall any trucks where the sensor itself was the cause of low TPS %

usually a stretched cable or the pedal was hitting the carpet etc.

Right, I had him stomp on the pedal, engine off, and noticed the blades were fully open with no play. I couldn't move the throttle any farther as it was hitting the metal stop.

I put in a new TPS in and am seeing 94% at WOT, no 100%s yet. But still a 15% gain over my best run before the swap and my idle seems to have smoothed out a bit, especially after the engine is hot.
