1st kill with the new turbo - Trailblazer SS

Was bored tonight, so I decided to just cruise around in the Clone and do my part to curb global warming. Didn't figure I'd get any action since everyone around here seems to drive Prius hybrids and other disposable cars these days. Well, I ended up rolling up next to a Trailblazer SS at a red light. Young male driving, I figured he might want some. I just eased into it at the first light to see what he'd do...nothing. So at the next red light, I was going to lay into it either way, but he ends up launching it and getting about a car on me off the line. I just stabbed the gas and walked past him (no boosted launch). By the time I hit 85mph I was a good three cars ahead of him, so I braked hard back down to legal speeds. He changed lanes and wouldn't come near me after that...he ended up taking a quick right. Those SSs are pretty quick off the line, but it was no match for a 24.5psi boosted Syclone. This new turbo kicks ass...I'm running 91 with Torco and denatured alky spray and hit 26psi tonight with no knock. Truck is running super strong

I have seen your truck in action. No doubt you would kill a SS easy. Heck you killed my SY easy.

Just got a ride in Jeremy's Sy. WOW. I was impressed. I just hope mine feels that good. Never been in a SyTy pushing 25lbs before. Felt strong. Love the wheels too. Even my wife was impressed with the looks. She said your truck looks better then mine

i like the wheels on there now better. If thats what a 11 sec truck feels like I have work to do.

I thought those had a funky offset? They look great though!

Jeremy, I started tearing down the tranny you donated to me. It's going to replace the broken one in the Ty, or so I hope.
So far some small metal pieces, but nothing broken yet. Thanks again.

His Sy kicks ass. only thing was he had to hit the freeway to cool the trans off even with his cool setup. I am glad I dont have to do that .

That's crazy, even with all those coolers it still has trouble keeping the temps down.

it was getting over 180 after about 3-4 hard runs. did not do a boost launch but he stomped in it hard. after a 5 min drive on the freeway it cooled off quick. Impressed with his cooling set up. My 700r would take 20 min of freeway driving to cool.

The coolers on there have no problem keeping the tranny temps down...I just don't like to beat on it when it goes over 180F after a WOT pull, so I let it cool back down first. Haven't mounted any tires on those wheels yet, but I need different sizes for those (Front = 245/40R-18
Rear = 275/35R-18) vs. the 265/35R-18s I have now. It's on my to-do list, just not a high-priority at the moment. Plan on doing coil-overs, swapping rims, rear aluminum drums, ABS delete, and installing a BOV. Otherwise, I think I'm basically done with it

When your out cruising on a average temp day, what temps are you seeing when not running it hard?

Just cruising around on a warm day, temps are 170-180F with the Derale fan off. After going WOT, it will spike up to 190F or so; then I switch on the fan and it cools back down real quick. On a cold night, it drops down to 160F. The temp probe is mounted in the aux filter housing, which is the hot line coming right out of the trans. I bypassed the factory rad cooler to clean up the plumbing, plus it wasn't doing any good since I already have a B&M up front and a huge Derale under the bed.

just giving you crap. Truck feels solid. I would just drive it as it is. Maybe put the BOV on.
I would seriously do a 80e after this trans dies.
