Need How-To for removing the engine and tranny

Does anybody know where to find a write-up on properly removing the engine and tranny out of a 2wd so I don't wind up smashing any of the components with a chain or whatnot? I haven't been able to find one on the search engines and I the only things I have left to disconnect are the engine and tranny mounts before we can yank it out. Possibly a DAQ but I'm a first timer. TIA

Just look around the motor several times to make sure that nothing is still hooked up. Start pulling the motor/trans, and keep checking to see if anything is getting caught up or still connected.

Yeah, the main thing I'm worried about is not getting something disconnected and taking a chunck out of something. How many chains should I use? One around the tranny and one around the engine, or just two around the engine?

Depends on the size of the chains, but I've always used one chain on the motor. But those are heavy duty frame pulling chains.
