Northeast Caravan to Nats?

Re: Northeast Caravan to Nats?

I think the window for me getting my truck retitled in time for Nats is officially closed. From what I've been told it takes PennDOT 6-8 weeks to issue a new title, and I'm still in pieces and still a few short of getting it running again. With Nats less than 6 weeks away it would probably be a mistake to try and get it to KC without a proper shakedown anyway. Bummer, I told folks it would be there, and I try to be a man of my word.

Dad and I will be there like always, but we had talked about flying out this year if my truck isn't running. (No, I'm not spending a grand in gas to haul a non-running truck to KC.) I'll talk to him about it next time I get a chance and let you guys know.(he's working 2nd shift this week so I won't see him until next weekend at the soonest) For the few hundred bucks it'll cost - but the vacation days I'll save - I'd just as soon fly, but we'll see.

I might be driving out, but my plans aren't set in stone. I am hoping to get to KC by early evening on Thursday.

well, as usual I plan on leaving Wednesday eveing, most likely 5 or 6 ish, but nothing set in stone there either, could be a little earlier or a little later. If the BMW is up and running on LS2 power, Ill be taking that, otherwise the Celica will be going on its 3rd cross country trip

i am planing on driving out, and jay from pa said he is driving out as well. i am guessing if jeff is still in pa he is driving out with us. i dont know if i am towing the sy/gn/ty/ty "one of them" or driving one and maybe towing one or just driving one and try to make it there and back. i will follow whenever you guys leave other wise i will not make it by myself, i will fall asleep unless i have someone to follow.

I plan on driving out in the Sy from the VA east coast............... was wondering if there would be a caravan or not............ This will be my first meet and a retirement reward to myself after 21 years in the Air Force.

Last year we stopped every 200 miles or so for gas and bathroom/stretching breaks. We had plenty enough people to make sure no one had to drive the whole way though.

Update: Dad can't make it so I'm flying out early to get some golf in with the locals and other early arrivals. Have fun on the caravan, keep the tickets to a minimum.

i don't have plane tix yet....so i'll most likely end up riding shotgun or taking the sti. My house can be a stopping point again. wouldn't make sense for the MD/VA peeps

Re: Northeast Caravan to Nats?

I doesn't seem like I am getting 'the duck', since the owner is having it repaired in the coming weeks. I am going to decide in the next couple of days whether or not to drive out or get a plane ticket and car rental.

If I drive, I will be driving my daily driver (Chevy Prizm). Though I get 40+ mpg, I am not going to drive all the way out to KC in that. So who is driving out on Wednesday, that needs a co-pilot?
