Re: Syclone 1616 is home at last!!!!
Wow...I just bought a Ty, and thought I'd check up on #1616. I came across this post, and am just sadened by people. Vince gave me a negative feedback on Ebay, even though I couldn't have been more honest. He KNEW I just bought the car...and I made it crystal clear that I wasn't at all familiar with it. He asked a ton of questions, which is good, and I answered every single one as best as anyone could. Trust me, I don't want to drag up this old subject, but feel compelled to set the record straight:
A) I specifically told him that I may not be able to wash it before it gets picked up by the transporter. He said something to the effect of "no problem, I totally understand". Uh...that implies the interior too, which needed NOTHING more than a 10 minute vacuuming. A medium amount of dirt on the carpet does not equate to "sh*thole". Vince tried slamming me on the phone on this subject. Sadly, he simply forgot that told him I may not (and did not) have time to clean it. I'm miffed at how we go from "no problem", to whining about such a petty issue.
B) I find it interesting that Vince makes the comment at the top of the thread, "not as beautiful as the Ebay listing, but close". But tries to rip me a new a-hole, implying the car is nothing like I represented it as. His complaint about there being all kinds of front end problems were nothing I knew about, and nothing I could detect as obviously in need in repair. I didn't think it felt that great, but it was the 1st Sy I owned, and had no idea that how they should feel. I had read repeated on this site that they don't handle that well, and attributed it's mediocre handling to the fact it's only a modified S10 truck! It's no C6 Vette, after all. Austin, who owned it for at least 2 years himself that it was a "little loose", which is exactly what I could say. Vince ripped my head off, insulting me and accusing me of scamming him, as I didn't know about this alleged MAJOR problem in the front end.
Everyone is praising the hell out of your Sy (I saw you posted pics...looks just as nice as the way I remember it, minus the rims). The fact is, it's probably in the top 1% of the nicest Sy's in existance...and all you could do accuse me of stating that the car had major and widespread problems, including the comical "loose tail lights" complaint, of which I knew nothing about. I never washed it (it sat in the garage the month or so I owned it), and simply don't go around jiggling tail lights when I buy cars. Minus the dust and dirt on the outside, mostly due to the transport, the car interior cleanliness was probably 95% the same as when I bought it from Austin. Slam him too (which I could never think of whining about such a minor issue, let alone unleash a verbal lashing upon me on the phone as you did) whil you're at it.
B) Austin has a time warp problem. I owned it for weeks before I realized that I'd rather have the money back (and relisted it on Ebay), simply rebounding from an impulsive purchase of a 4th car. I think I remember even mentioning that this was an impulsive buy at the time I considered buying the car from Austin. The fact that I made some money on it is not conclusive evidence that I only wanted to turn it around and make money. At the time I bought it, I figured I might own it a year or two... But so what anyway if I did? Who can slam someone if they know they can make some money on buying and sell a car? Yoohoo...there are thousands of dealers and millions of cars being sold all over the country by dealers...doing the same exact thing....buying cars they know they can sell for more. It's not a crime, nor immoral. You guys need to wake up...
Be very cautious of the current owner of #1616...he's delusional. I don't think that his eventual knowledge that I made $1,500-$2,000 on it helped. Buyer's remorse, unreasonable expectations (Vince: don't EVER buy anything off of Ebay again, you're not fit to understand the limitations of such a situation; buying a car sight unseen, regardless of one's level of "forthrightness", as you accused me of not having), and the fact that he felt "had" because he learned that I made some coin on it led to his tremedous hostility and negative feedback on Ebay.
And most importantly, the price that Vince paid was still a very fair price for that Sy. As he said, it's beautiful, and one of the nicest Sy's on the planet. I surely hope you've stopped your whining. But if you want to whine some more, here's your chance. If you have the original description I posted on Ebay, copy and paste it here, and point out the things on it that were not "representened accurately or fairly" (to quote his neg. feedback comment). I'm most curious to have you defend yourself, specifically in regards to stating that the Ebay listing was innaccurate. And BTW, if it's "close", as you stated yourself, then it either deserves a positive feedback or maybe a neutral rating. Between the two of us, you're the one with the honesty issue...not me.
Fortunately, nobody cares about your comment...I've successfully sold several items on Ebay since then...
But please post my Ebay ad, and point out the innaccuracies...I'd love to have you back up your accusations.
