Oil shedding coatings?

I remember seeing a thread a while back about someone who had coated their upper manifold with an oil shedding epoxy of some sort. I've been trying to find the thread / information about the coating but I've been having no luck. Anyone remember this besides me :lol: ?

Tooky - he was going to spray his upper in a silvery gray but decideded it looked gay, but then sprayed the inside with it as it had oil shedding properties. Think it is in his vortec conversion thread....

Nope, that's not the one. I've used that coating before (actually have the same color on my lower :lol: ) but that isn't the one. Wish I had a better memory :roll: .

99% sure it was an upper intake that was coated, and internally

There's always Glyptol. It's that orange paint that usually gets painted on the lifter valley. Comes in a spray can or you can brush it on.
Otherwise you'll have to send it out to have it coated.

I was going to make a comment about the time but then I remembered you're about 6 hours ahead of me :lol: .... I'm actually looking to do an engine block with the stuff if I can ever find it, for another car

Try Tech line www.techlinecoatings.com I don't think they will sell you the pro / shop grade stuff but even the "over the counter retail" product is pretty good. We use the Techline products and have had real serious improvements and excellent long term results. What you really want is the TLLB but that is the shop only product. CBC1 / CBC2 works about as well though and is the "retail" package.
