Cool looking forward to seeing if the "issues" with the ATR setup have been addressed

kenne bell I believe.. but ask adam about that kit.. he's gone off about it plenty of times.. it seems you have to remove your wheel to get to it and it seems to see tons of weather etc

Re: Battery relocation kit

i am wanting to put my battery on the drivers side where the stock air filter assembly is.....i am thinking about going ahead and doing it myself though. asked a few people about it and really did not get and ideas back. oh well, it looks like i am not gonna sell it, even with dropping the price 3k.......i will repaint it and make it nice and pretty again and see if i still want to get rid of it. it is all just time and money. but if anyone can make it for the drivers side that would be cool. also, my oil filter is not in the stock location so with the air filter gone it is wide open.

The pan I have to move my battery there took about an hour to make, real simple. I might be able to do one up in steel pretty easily

Re: Battery relocation kit

Looks very good to me, this relocation set.

Question I have is, can it be problem when lowered and with 18" wheels in a sharp corner?
and can you make this set in the future or else can you send me specs and measurements?

what about cables ? is that going to be included? or will there be measurements on what we need to get?

Well it something doesn't materialize soon I'm going to step up and furnish my co conspirator, Mike Renz, with all the dimensions from mine so that can start getting prototypes water jetted out. He'll be the one to answer your questions with regards to the cables since more than likely he'll be selling the "kits"

.

I still plan to make my own however, with no regards to cost. I have no intention of selling my version because of the expenses involved. Getting stainless steel laser cut, professionally TIG welded and cutting custom pieces parts isn't cheap... I guess if it works as well as I hope it does, I *may* entertain fabricating them "on request". Either way, sytyland needs an economical battery relocation replacement since ATR is now defunct. Apparently not everyone wants to mount their battery in the bed of their syclone or in the back of their typhoon

Re: Battery relocation kit

I would buy a custom stainless replacement if it came available . There also is enough cable to need only the battery support .

Re: Battery relocation kit

Hello Everyone,

We have the prototypes made, but we are still having problems with the new plasma machine. We made the initial Relocate kits by hand. It would be to much money if they are made by hand. I will check into the possibility of Stainless steel. I should have the pictures up soon. I'm sorry for the delay in getting this together, but with the glitches in his new machine we are a little away from production. I was thinking this kit should include the Relocate tray and all the hardware to hook it up. If anyone knows what this kit used to go for we can try to make it as cheap as possible. I will keep everyone posted in the next week or so.

Thankyou, Sean

Re: Battery relocation kit

A couple questions. First one: Why stainless steel, it's way more expensive than regular sheet metal, yes it doesn't rust, but pricey. You don't really need it water cut( I know Renz works with a water jet ,so I will assume that will be the answer, but there is no real fancy corner/edges to make. Most cuts could be done on a shear, unless you don't have access to one.I have a atr kit in my ty, there isn't anything really fancy to enginneer, just time to make a kit, just like in most items. Cables in my ty are done with a junction box( I think it was done for convenience more than form/function)

Hello,

The only reason I suggested Stainless was because of Mr King's request. It will be a lot more expensive, that is for sure. My Father-in-Law owns a sheet metal shop and he said all the bends and cuts would be easy on a shear but the holes they use to run the wires through he said would be alot easier to use the plasma cutter. He has a hand held but just received a very pricey machine that would make these alot easier to stamp out. The cables seem fairly easy. My friend has the ATR Kit on his truck and that is what we were working from. There will be some cables and a mounting kit to finish it off. Pictures should be up by Wendsday. I said should.

I am not sure if it will rub or not. By looking at these pictures and the mock we used to cut this with, the battery always corrodes the metal. I would think powder coating them should slow that down. Any suggestions? The one we mocked was rusted through in the same spot. I want MY relocate kit to not corrode, maybe the stainless option would the best? I will get with my father-in-law and pick his brain about metal and coating. We want these to hold up better. Also, these should be available upon demand once all the intial bugs are out.

Re: Battery relocation kit

All metal corrodes/erodoes with time. yes stainless will last longer than normal steel, but acid from a battery will destroy enen stainless. If you are using a gel battery there won't be any problems with using plain steel. The atr kit in my ty is old( not sure how old) and is in near mint shape. While I won't be needing another kit ( unless I het another ty), I can try help advice to you guys trying to build the kits. I was thinking of building them myself, I just don't have the time. I do have access to all machinery to make them though. What hole are you talking about running the cables through?, mine just seem to snake arouond the sheetmetal of the ty, I am using a junction box for the cables, which will be eliminated this winter,( I think the junction box looks kinda cheap way to go).

Re: Battery relocation kit

I am interested in the kit too, I'll keep an eye on this thread, can't wait til they're ready!

becuase who wants to sit at a shear for hours and hours to make a run of kits, when you can program a machine to do it and it'll cut it itself in 1/1000th the time. Time is worth something. If you're making something for just yourself its a little different than if you're making things to sell to people.

Re: Battery relocation kit

oh...and if you make them at a shear, every single kit would be slightly different sized/shaped. CNC is easily the way to go.

Re: Battery relocation kit

I know a cnc is the way to go. 90 % of the vehicles out there have variations in them also. Nothing will ever fit exactly from one to another. Hey where's my lifter valley spalsh shield anyways?. Never mind the engines together already. Maybe a rain check on one of your other parts when you get something finished.

Hello Everyone,

Here is the pictures of the Battery relocate kit we mocked. We will be adding some fasteners so you wont need lower nuts and bolts, just bolts. Also this is in galvanized steel and we are looking into possibly doing these in stainless steel for durability. Production is still a little ways out, the new machine is a little complicated. I will get pricing as soon as we can get them into production. I am hoping they get the plasma cutter dialed in so we can start production. If anyone has any suggestions with this application it would be appreciated. We almost have these available.

Thankyou for the interest,Sean
