Brand new set of Vortecs. Why?

If you stick with the 422 you can use a off the self comp spring kit and not have to pay and have the spring seats ground down to fit ls-1 beehive's or similar springs. Saves you a little bit of money. The 422 is .500 intake .510 exhaust, the spring kit is good for .500 lift i have not had any binding problems.

Are you talking about the comp 982 "conical" springs?

Well like one eariler comment, with a 2800 - 3000 stall I think / hope this is a good cam for "the usual mods" up to about 6000 rpm, for Vortec's and L-35 that flow peeks in the .500 - .550 lift range has a little better split on the duration and lift. This is a "step above the 422" for better than average head & intake port work. If any of you CAM GURU's want to pass judgment I would appericate it and I'm all ears!
