Re: cryo intercooling

Ok I'm looking for an excuse to hook the ac back up. The truck has an aftermarket turbo and the ac lines were removed. I was wanting to run the braided lines anyway and was thinking of connecting the upper intercooler to it (or an aftermarket one), like how the suburbans used dual ac. I remember reading something about this when Jethro had a crazy sy site, and I still had my first ty. Any thoughts on this?
Been done. Google "Intracooler".
1) The A/C compressor is off at WOT.
2) This leaves you with a cool down/heat up/cool down cycle.
The + side is that it's *really* cold once you've cooled it down.
The way these normally work is to have the freon cool a vessel of water that then gets used to cool the IC. It's sort of a variation of the beer-cooler ice-box, only with an active cooler.
The bigger the tank you use, the longer/better the cooler works. Downer is that the bigger the tank, the heavier it is...
