It's just for the LSx blocks, right? Plus I remember reading somewhere that that thing is 7 or 8k

That one is on a Small Block Chevy

I bet you are not to far off on 7k a good fabricated intake cost 3-5 and that is sheet metal and that is a big piece of aluminium

Wow that is a work of art :)! Heh, I was talking to my bud about doing something similar with my MAP sensor a few months ago...

Look at how little material they left around the last bolt hole on both ends in the first three pictures.

The one shot showing the runner really shows how close they cut it.

Did someone get shorted an extra 1/8" of material or what?

I guess they are going for the lowest tightest profile they can get away with...

Wow! I didn't notice that the first time I looked at it. If that's going on an insane horsepower build, with super high engine temps, will that stand up to the abuse? Looks like it wouldn't take anything to crack right there. Especially with an overtightened bolt :dunno:

All show no go?

I think a lot of the SEMA product are only built to look at from 10 feet away.

Let me tell you this is not just a show piece. Since Nelsons dyno room is all of 5 feet from our welding table (no, seriously), many of you who have called the shop probably heard a motor or two of his running in the background. I have watched this intake develop from the early solidworks concepts, and its really an engineering showpiece. Nelson is a great customer and friend of ours, and we are stoked for him to have pulled off such a sick part. He has his motor combos so dialed in he knows exactly what it is supposed to do before it even gets put on the dyno. If i recall this intake made like 35+ hp more then his previous sheetmetal intakes back to back, so it not only looks nuts it works awesome. And they've been tested over 2000hp and 35psi and i've personally witnessed it. Wait till you see the all aluminum, all cnc machined Big Block chevy.

you should see this car he is working on (be careful on what parts you critique since i may have had something to do with it :) hehe :
