Has anyone used the EGR blockoff plate and don away with it....my engine is mostly stock, and i wasnt sure if it would hurt it in any way.....i see RPM sells a nice plate for a reasonable price....some feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks

You should be okay. We have emission testing in my county so I have to reinstall mine once a year to pass inspection.

I was using it on my truck up until I stopped driving it this winter. I do my own inspections so I dont have to take mine off. Just make sure you plug the vacuum hose that goes to the valve. Its as simple as that!

Re: Egr Valve Delete Question

To properly delete the egr you should turn it off in the bin file or chip.. if not and block it off and remove the egr solenoid some trucks tend to set EGR error codes during cruising conditions which sets the CHECK ENGINE light on and causes the truck to studder for a few seconds.. My truck never did that but now I have it disabled in the chip anyways

Its all ABOOT the SYTY eh
Re: Egr Valve Delete Question

so what if you disable it in the bin but leave the valve on there (so it passed visually) would you still get the benefit?

yes you would.. but if you want to be anal about it you can remove the upper intake and plug the port to make sure there will be absolutely no way the egr passage can heat up your intake. I personally have noticed that when my egr used to kick on it would raise my intake temps by 30 to 40 degrees within a few seconds.

Yup, that's what I did on the bottom:

"3/8 X 18 NPT brass plug to be staked in place to prevent exhaust gas from ever entering upper intake."

And here's what I did to "clean up" the top:
