San Antonio area drags?

Is there anything going on down there march 28-april 1? Gonna be in the area, and will need creative ways to kill time during the day...

Also, pointers to really good tex-mex food would be appreciated.

Later,

Sorry I am not there to drag you around Dig. On Friday nights there is a pretty good car meet behind Whataburger at Highway 35 and Topperwine (just south of the 35/1604 interchange on the northside). It usually gets good at 6pm with the old school stuff, then thins out a bit till 730 or so, when the more modern stuff rolls in. it is generally hopping again about 8pm. Saturdays are usually track night at San Antonio raceway. The cruise scene was recently fried by the popo so I am not sure if you will find any love there.

Re: San Antonio area drags?

The bummer is that I likely won't have a car to get anywhere. Wife has a work conference at the convention center, and I'm just kinda along for the ride.

I'll have pretty much the whole day to kill, 9:00 -4:00 or so. Could do some tunes, if there are any locals that have a need.

Uhhh, Beavis... I would definitely love to take you up on this, assuming I can collect all the tuning hardware prior to then. Sy just doesn't like my old (v7?) Ultimate anymore; can't seem to find a happy (FP) medium where its not pig rich at idle or lean on the top end.

I'm in Austin, but would gladly make the 1 hour treck to SA to hang. Been wanting to dive into code 59, just haven't acquired WB O2, Ostrich etc. yet. This would be a good excuse to do so! Please PM me an idea of what I'm looking at, for your services.

Cheers,
Sy+Ty

I'm in Hondo, about 40 miles west of SA. I would be interested in learning more about tuning. I'm already running code $59 and you have already helped me a lot over at cone59.org. I'd relay like some help tunning my new combo, but i doubt it will be ready by then (still just a pile of engine parts now).

I'd still like to get together and watch if your gona do some tuning, just to try to learn some more.

I'd definitely be down to learn about some tuning or get a tune depending on if my truck is running and if I have some money.

I say you bribe Dig with Tex-Mex, pick him up, then tune on the way to the Cruise in off of Topperwine road.

Beer, since I'm already there, and don't have to bring a whole lot of hardware. Donate to $59, If you like. I'll need a ride to wherever we're doing the test

A 2 foot chunk of pipe with a black box of electronics tends to set off alarm bells with the TSA when getting on a plane, So It'd be better to not have to bring stuff.

If a bunch of guys want to get together to talk/learn/tune, that'd be cool. Like I said, I've got lots of daytime to kill. Couple 2-3 days of AM to mid-afternoon. Might even be weekend days, but I won't really know much until I get down there.

If nothing else, you'd be amazed at how much better things get after 20-30 mins of autotune. Are there areas to do WOT tests around?

Normally, there's tons of broken stuff to fix, so wherever we're at, there should be tools.

It's really looking like I'll be around on the Sat-Sun, March 29-30 for most of the day. Probably some/most of the following Monday as well.

Sat: 10:00-5:00
Sun: 10:00-5:00
Mon: until 3:00

So, whoever wants to dial stuff in, let me know.
I would strongly recommend breaking your o2 sensor loose ahead of time, and if you haven't done ignition in a while, get 'r dun.

Looks like I'm gonna be at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk. I'm guessing I'll be the only guy in a Nats T-shirt.

Re: San Antonio area drags?

Bump. Looks I fly in on the 28th, get there around 6:00.

I'll pretty much have all day Saturday/Sunday, if anybody wants to do a little tuning.
I'll bring the old laptop, I could throw a WB in too, but I'd really rather not go through the hassle with that if someone down there has one.

Debating whether I should bring golf clubs, too... We're not gonna get a hack at anything for another 2 months, at least.

Re: San Antonio area drags?

Sorry Dig, I have been completely covered up w/ work & otherwise & haven't spent any time on the truck as of late. Suffice it to say, I'm not able to make it down this weekend.

Sucks too b/c my truck could've really benefitted from a tune. hope you enjoy your stay!
